Once upon a time, learning how to be a wife actually was a course taught back in high school: Home Economics.

Of course, the social engineers took it out of the schools to get the current day outcome. It's all about breaking down a society, make money doing it at the same time and bring in a new society that they're more in control of. Global reset.

@@jahkarimirza7286 YES!!! In fact there's a book called 'The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America' by a woman who worked for the government during the years when they were making these changes and it's basically a tell-all of how these "social engineers" (nice way of putting it, lol) have worked to intentionally destroy society to the point where things are as messed up as they are today.

It’s up to us as parents: teach finance (investing, budgeting, credit building and debt-avoidance), basic sewing, cooking, laundry, hygiene and personal appearance, basic maintenance and repairs, common sense safety measures, home fire prevention and fire fighting, emergency reaction, Etc. Or you can expect school to cover hopefully 1% of any one of these topics.

Back in Africa, our training starts as an infant. The women raising us make sure we get the "wife" skills before leaving home. You even learn to serve guests, organize events, caring for the old, etc. Tiring but good life skills even to survive alone.

"Wife school". I had to chuckle at that. The feminist would burn the building down at any university that considered teaching such a thing. But all joking aside, many a southern bell went to "charm" or "finishing" school 50 years ago. I will be honest, I do think universities need to teach courses on "life skills". I mean in this day and age, how many 20 somethings know how to write a check, service a vehicle, or cook food with more than two ingredients? If you check their kitchen, do they even own cookery beyond a pot or two?
@johnwright6706
@johnwright6706 3 жыл бұрын
@@superdave8248 that is supposed to be the parents job. I don't know if you have kids, but if you did, did you try teaching them those life skills and why they are important? The hardest thing I'm encountering is breaking through to my son that no one else will try to teach him these things later for free.
@superdave8248
@superdave8248 3 жыл бұрын
@@johnwright6706 Agreed. It should have been the parents' job to do these things. Do I have biological children? No. I have stepchildren and they were both grown adults when I started getting involved with their mother. So I can't speak on what they were taught and what they were not. But I see it the disconnect. My wife can cook. But when I hear my stepdaughter talking to her mom, she doesn't make complex meals. They are basic. If she and her SO want a complex meal they eat out. Is that a failure of the mom to teach these types of skills or is it a failure on the daughter to use the skills she was once taught? To be honest I have no idea. I just know from my own experience that once you stop using skills those skills wither like dead leaves on a vine. You might have been able to make the best cake in the world, but if you haven't baked a cake in 10 years odds are the first one you do bake again isn't going to be up to the old standard. I'm a product of the public school system of the 1970s and 80s. In middle school everyone had to take half a year of Home Economics. And yes, it covered these very things. High School also had a similar course but I never took it so I have only assumptions on what was taught. But it was primarily targeting towards females. If the public education system back then saw a need for such classes and even make one mandatory for all students, I can't help but think in this day and age it is even more necessary than previously. When I graduated high school I knew a single person that came from a single parent home. People who divorced simply remarried. The friend in this case her parents had separated while she was in high school. I don't even recall if they finalized the divorce or not. And nobody had a parent who was a widow. But about 10 years ago I was looking through a calendar one of the local school's produced. It had pictures of students and their families. Half the pictures were single family households. Half. And that wasn't even a two generation difference. Going from no single family homes to half. When you are dealing with single parent households, when do you have the time to focus on life skills? Between school, homework, and extracurricular activities, there just isn't time in one person's day. And it is even worse if there is more than one child in the house.

That is the clear sign of a person NOT ready to get married and I have been marred for 23 years. When you get married, it's a partnership of what each person brings to the table that they can't on their own or with great cost. It's about reaching life goals and sharing life's changes together because both people know they helped each other get there. I take pride in helping my wife succeed, and she enjoys helping me reach my goals. One way relationships are doomed for failure. Know what you bring to the table and deliver. The worst is also misleading, such as cooking or doing things while you are dating, and stopping it after marriage.

Japan is done. They have one of the lowest birthrates in the world. Their older generation is dying off faster than they can replace them. Appreciate this 24 year old having the foresight to seek out these answers to her questions. We aren’t born knowing everything and can only rely on those around us to guide us. This girl (this generation) is so so very lucky to have this platform (Kevin, KZfaq, the Internet) to get these hard truth lessons. Hopefully she uses his wisdom and advice to have a happy fulfilled wonderful life!!!

Marriage is also not the answer you being a woman to know a woman is always looking whether she is married or not that’s the whole point of procreation you are searching for the best possible option meaning the best situation, and genetics. Marriage only benefits preachers marriage chapels government organizations etc. marriage is not a natural action in the natural response someone being forced to stay with one person or a voice in themselves to stay with the person is to leave or cheat on that person there is nothing that will stop nature at the end

Man Kevin is such a sharp dude. I’ve noticed that every time a woman tries to over talk him he’s got them all to apologize and be quiet. Hey ladies he’s teaching you and most of you don’t even realize it. I say this to say practice it at home with your dude. I bet you’ll get a difference in how he acts. Oh yeah and sex sandwich and silence. The recipe

I met my wife when she was 15. She knew how to sew, she could bake bread, she babysat and loved little kids a ton. She was smart and focused on doing well in school. She was preparing to become a wife and mother and it showed. It put her so far ahead of all the shallow girls around her who were only interested in where the best deals on clothes were and what concerts were coming up.

Yup, she was 19 when we married, and I didn't have a job or a car even, but I had prepared to be a father and husband. I was in university preparing for a career. She worked and help put me through school, then I worked and she stayed home and raised our kids. It took a lot of sacrifice (no 6 figures here) but it worked. When the youngest was old enough, she went back to school, got her degree, now she has a good career too. A woman can have it all, but she has to do the marriage/kids part first, then the career part after. A 40 year old woman doesn't have the energy to keep up with toddlers but a woman in her 20s does.

Get a solid foundation started. What Kevin told you to do is wrong and part of the problem younger women are skipping over young men their age who have potential. If the guy you are with has potential for success and you guys are in love theres nothing wrong with that. Again Kevin was completely wrong for telling you he can't get married because he's broke. Yup that is why I geared my daughter to the S.T.E.M field. 23 degree in MATHEMATICS and Computer Science already making 75k. Plus Her 2nd mom and I trained her to know how to take care of her husband. Cooking,cleaning, speaking, negotiating, and running the finances. Her partner told her he will wait for her to be ready and now they are building a life. But we taught her all this so she will have options because some men F up and she still will be an option for a good man. She keep herself up and make sure they eat healthy to have best quality of life. I pray for my children but also prepared them for life and not a life alone. And that goes for my daughter and sons.
