Me and my friend did a tile job with removal like that. It was 600sqft of it. We used a shingle remover shovel for the cement board on the floor. They had nails every 3” on every sheet instead of screws. Demo took two days between the two of us.

One thing I would advise is try to remove some of the tiles cleanly and save them for future possible damages to tiles in bathroom. You won't be able to match those lots or even find that tile

Amazing video as always !! I appreciate the hard work and detailed videos you provide. I would say be mindful of the heat from the gas stove and the microwave I removed mine because it was too much heat and made me nervous.

Are we allowed to offer feedback to this beautiful build? Pot faucet on range backsplash, center all backsplash outlets, combo box light switch and outlet left of range, add electrical outlet to island on each end. My takeaway from kitchen remodels. Again, excellent work and explanation video!!!

Amazing work and video production. The weird cut outs with the backsplash feels like a travesty though. Kinda defeats the purpose of the stone backsplash if you aren't going to take it all the way up. I'm guessing this was to avoid dealing with the wall outlets.

Do the countertop shop also do the installation, or you do it yourself? How much is the installation? Why can't they drill the faucet holes in the shop? How long did it take for the whole thing?

Nice build and video. Caeserstone is banned here in Australia as of 1st of July though due to serious health concerns for workers. I was loving all the water fed machines but the video still ended with some dude hand abrading/polishing with no face mask. That said, I believe the dust getting through PPE is part of the reason for the ban.

I am giving that sink 8 years until silicone let go of the grip, and drop down on the floor. Without MOUNTING BRACKETS that installation is doomed to fail. It happened to me with my undermount sink installed by a company that installed quartz countertops.

Why do you think a professional outfit like the one would install it this way? I'm going to rely on the experts in this circumstance and hope that they know what they are doing. Maybe I missed the clips being installed when filming so I'll double check next time I'm at the house. Luckily I have another project coming up with this client.

@@BYOTools I am giving you my experience. "Professionals" do not want to install mounting brackets since it is a pain in you know where. Squeezing tube of silicone in 10 min, beats 1-2 hours of installing brackets + silicone. If you plan to have "forever house" do plan to install under the sink mounting brackets. (now after me re-doing it all what "professionals" did, my sink is supported with brackets + silicone) Grease and dirt and pressure does increase in time causing silicone to "give". Solely your plastic piping under the sink, that is meant for sewer water, is not there to support full weight of you trying to scrub that pot. If you really use your kitchen, (you or your wife) do install brackets. If you are "UBER eats family" with showcase kitchen, leave it as it is. Will last to you 15 years.

@@BYOTools the cabinets are made by Base Wood Metro Factory International located in Binan Laguna Philippines. The plywood has a substantial amount of formaldehyde in it and the cheap finish won't hold up for very long. It is a "you get what you pay for" product.

Do you guys have any changes coming in regarding engineered stone like this? In Australia, it looks like these products will be banned, as too many cases of silicosis, and workers/employers not taking all the right precautions.

Not that I know of but yes you definitely need to always wear a proper mask/respirator when working with these types of countertops and cutting them/grinding. So are all quartz countertops being band in Australia?

40k for cabinets 😮. Buy your own table saw and start cutting. Even if you mess up every even number of plywood sheets, you will come out on top

I would cry if I had tile and it was replaced with engineered wood, especially in a wet area like a kitchen.

All high end kitchens use wood. Engineered wood can even be put in a bathroom. It's incredibly resilient to water. I prefer tile myself, but wood is the go to for a luxury kitchen.

I think they said they bought the “new” cabinet at a discount store, but they are NOT the same as the custom cabinets that the client originally wanted bc budget.

Good questions Jonathan and luckily for me I consider myself more of a content creator than a contractor these days. I get paid multiple different ways so I'm not worried about making a ton on the project itself. I just give the client my hourly rate and as long as they agree to that I'm happy to save the client money in the end.

Looks nice. General comment on your voice over - I think you take "we, us" etc. to an extreme when describing how everything is done. As an example describing the countertop guys, its not really a "we" as you are technically not involved in it? I understand that you want your viewers to feel connected and part of the team - I just think you are taking it a bit too far. Not everything needs to be "we" based.

Tip for future scripts, you use words like "extremely" and "perfectly" way too often and in places where it isn't really necessary, I'd tone that down a little

I am going through a kitchen remodel, and if using a floating vinyl floor, it should not be installed under cabinets (to allow for expansion and movement). The kick plate and island back panel covers up the edge of the floor. The plywood under cabinets maintains correct cabinet height.

@@foreignstory The cabinet weight would prevent a floating vinyl floor from moving and expanding / contracting over time, so I think the floor may buckle.

Some recommend placing the cabinets on plywood the same thickness as the flooring, so they will have the standard height.
