Materials & Supplies:
For weave shown at beginning, I used 3.5mm inner diameter 18 gauge jump rings (silver-filled from RioGrande.com)
I used two pairs of chain nose pliers (Click here for the ones I used): amzn.to/2z1nxcj
Link to jump ring chart: chainweavers.com/images/large...

This is obviously an older video, but it still holds up and is so easy to follow. I’ve seen a lot of others teaching this and yours is by far the easiest to follow. Great job! And thank you 🙏

This weave is about 1500 years old, so a 5-year-old video will suffice.

How many packs of silver filling jump rings did you use to make a bracelet or necklace?
@FantasiaElegance
@FantasiaElegance 5 жыл бұрын
Hi Leah, I don't remember exactly for this one, but here's the approximate rule of thumb: 22 gauge (2.25mm i.d.) uses 40 rings per inch of finished weave 20 gauge (2.75mm i.d.) uses 33 rings per inch of finished weave 18 gauge (3.5mm i.d.) uses 26 rings per inch of finished weave 16 gauge (4.5mm i.d.) uses 20 rings per inch of finished weave 14 gauge (5.5mm i.d.) uses 16 rings per inch of finished weave So you can simply figure out how long you want your necklace or bracelet to be, subtract length of clasp, and multiply by the number of rings per inch. I would add a few extra just to be on the safe side.

One part I couldn't see...when you pushed the one on top & underneath back & separated the 2 jump rings....did you just go through the one bottom ring with both jumprings? It was hard to see & you didn't really stop & show it close up...ty
@FantasiaElegance
@FantasiaElegance 6 жыл бұрын
Hello! I'm sorry it wasn't clear! If I'm understanding your question correctly, you should be going through both the rings at that point. In fact, there's no point in this weave where you wind up with a ring only going through one other ring, since everything is worked in twos/pairs. I hope that helps!

I don't know what I'm doing wrong; could it be wrong sized rings? The two on the outside flop outward perpendicular to the chain
@FantasiaElegance
@FantasiaElegance 4 жыл бұрын
Hm, sounds like your rings could either be too large in diameter, or too small in gauge of wire. What size are you using?

Greetings friend, Can you tell me, please, the measurements of the jump rings of the smallest model? I mean the section of the bracelet that he showed as an example, the smallest measure you showed at the beginning of the video and at the end of the video, the smallest, I do not speak English but I managed to learn how make this with your good video, I just need you to help me with information about that measure in the other style of chain more smaller because I could not understand due to my language problem. I like the style much smaller because the jump rings are tighter and because of that the bracelet has a more solid appearance, but I need to know the exact measurements of those jump rings of that smaller chain that you showed to be able to buy them exact and without error and be able to make my own chain equal to that measure that you showed in specific thank you very much friend
@FantasiaElegance

Hello! Your English is actually quite good :) That one used 3.5mm (inner diameter) 18 gauge rings. If you have trouble finding them, you can go to RioGrande.com and type 921123 in the search bar (that is the item code). Thanks so much for watching! I hope that helps!

If you call the three links going away from the starting point A B C you let the C rings fall back on the sides, separate the B rings and then are you hooking the D rings into the A rings? I just can't get this. Thank you.
@FantasiaElegance

Hi Diane! You should be hooking the D rings into the C rings, but go between the B rings. I hope that helps!

I've got a load of old electrical wires just lying around, so that'd be a good start to try a bit of goldsmithing (outside of blade-/blacksmithing). I can always borrow my father's soldering set to close the rings. I guess I have everything I need that I cannot make myself.

Silver....on white skin tends to show the same....hence we can't see it....the gray background is way way better...try a light green background Am slow down a tiny bit...you are very young and a bundle of. Energy Some of up are old and slow.... :) :) :) :)
