In this episode, we work through an emotionally powerful song by NF that discusses the giant house he's built...to protect himself from the world.

How could you leave us will absolutely destroy you. Make sure you prepare yourself 🤍 it is beyond powerful. I really loved your reaction and you being so open and vulnerable. This is what NF’s music does. We can process our own emotions while he processes his.

How Could You Leave Us is definitely on our list. We're trying to work though The Journey and we're looking forward to getting to it as soon as we can. Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad we could bless others with how the music affected us!

You are going to have a tough journey with NF. But he will help you heal. He is writing his diary of trying to heal. I cried so many times with this journey. But he is my therapy. I found Hope even before the album Hope came out. Maybe some of your doors won’t scare you anymore!

This was a beautiful reaction. You both are so genuine and I really appreciate how raw you allow yourselves to be! Thank you for that. Can't wait to continue the journey with you! "Insidious is blind inception" means that he built this mansion because he thought it would be good and safe, but it was actually not good for him and slowly got worse and worse. Insidious meaning something that gradually worsens over time and inception being the beginning or start ~ Katie

One of the best songs showing the long lasting damage done by child abuse. It affects everything you do as you grow up, esp the younger you were ehen the abuse happened. You can become conditioned to that kind of atmosphere and youll gravitate to it as an adult. Even if you break the cycle ( traditionally men become abusers and women marry them but certainly not always) and even if you make peace its still a scar forever burned into you. It can affect in ways you never see. And child abuse is so prevalent in the world. It's actually very rare to find someone who was raised in a good well-balanced home. I believe it's something like one and three adults have some form of abuse in their childhood. And because like sexual assault its a severely underreported event, you know the numbers have to be much higher.

It was not his mom that abused him, one of her boyfriends did. She was either not there in mind or body. I don't know which. Jonny, is the name he gives of his abuser, which comes up in Intro 3.

I watch a lot of reaction on YT. I really liked your reaction and will watch more of them. If I have another romantic relationship in my life I wish that it is with someone who I can share things with in the way that you two seem to do. I have a daughter that will be 2 years old i september this year, but the relationship with her mother is over, though we still have a pretty good relationship when it comes to our daughter. We were together for 9 years or so. I've been dealing with chronic pain for about 20 years and it seems to slowly gets worse over time, which affects my mental health too. Lets just say that always being in pain is really exhausting. I don't want to put my ex on blast or anything like that, but lets just say that the way her father behaved when she grew up, and still is in many ways, wasn't ideal. I'll check out more of your stuff. I'm pretty new to NF myself. Respect for the honest and vulnerable reaction!

That's a lot to deal with man. I'm so sorry you're having to go through all that. Glad to hear things are good with your daughter and that you have a good working relationship with your ex with relation to your daughter. I imagine chronic pain that long would be mentally brutal to deal with. I'm sorry that's your experience. With your permission, I'd like to add you to our nightly prayers. Life's tough. I know I'd like to know others are praying for me at times. Glad you found us. Hope we can be a good place to land.

My Nf friends! Just discovered your channel and Nf reactions and I’ve subbed for so much more. I’ve really enjoyed this mans music, his journey has really changed my perspective on life in general as a husband and father and just as a person and I’ve enjoyed your reactions and looking forward to your next video it’s nice to see a couple on screen enjoying each other’s company! Makes me think of my family because we’ve been separated for a year now after a car wreck I had and I’m rehabbing trying to learn to walk again at 45 years old and it’s been a long lonely process but I found Nf and his music then reactions to his music and it passes the time so I’m sorry for the long comment but enjoyed your video and will be here for the next one guys! God bless y’all and see you next time!

No need to apologize for the long comment! NF clearly means a lot to you, and now that we've started doing these videos, I totally understand why! The community has been so welcoming to us. His music is deep, man. It really hits. Thanks for taking the time to stop by, drop a comment, and welcome us!

Yeah Nate has been through a lot. He meant the physical abuse memory literally. Then lost his Mom to addiction. The hardest song will be How Could You Leave Us. Which is about his Mom's addiction. I look forward to the rest of the journey. Me and Nate have a lot in common... He has helped me through a lot with his music. Can't wait for you to see him grow as a person!
