Hi! Brent here! I think that is very well said. They offer very different musical profiles. I have had a number of customers choose an Academy series model over the comparably sized Concert series model because of its warmer, softer voice. It all comes down to a matter of musical preferences. :)

We're glad you stumbled on our review! The C. Bechstein A175 is an absolutely stunning instrument! I think it tends to get overshadowed by the larger A190 quite a bit as the 6' mark is a very popular size category within the grand piano market. In any case, we hope that more people catch on to the amazing A175 model! :)

@@MerriamPianos Thank you for replying! I tried this model for about a couple of hours in total, and I also recognized the tonal differences in the three sections: low, middle, and high. I also like this character cause Chopin's Pleyel also seemed to have similar characteristics in terms of having different tones in the three sections.

Thanks for the suggestion! We will do our best to tackle that comparison. However, as you mentioned, they are not exactly like-to-like comparisons in the same price category. But, I do agree that it would be interesting to break down the reasons for the price disparity between different instruments. :)

The A175 is a stunning instrument! It is a category higher than the W180, which is also a tremendous instrument in its own regard of course. :)

We will do our best to tackle that comparison for you, but we usually focus on comparable instruments within the same quality/price tier. Thanks for the suggestion! :)

@@MerriamPianos absolutely no worries! Thank u so much for even replying. I feel the Feurich I play at has the Steinwayish kind of bass and mid bass/low mids if you know what I mean. The Bechstein sound feels more like the upper Yamaha models, can’t describe the sound really but I think you get me here. I had a little tendency in the Hoffmann Vision video with the ”stiffy” bass/mids but the T sounded a bit more Bechstein’y, like the A series. Best!

If you're prioritizing tone, the R6 would have the edge in my opinion. But, if the responsiveness of the action is a critical concern, the A175 would offer all of the touch benefits that come along with a grand piano.

Sometimes, we shoot videos with very fresh instruments that are right out of the crate, which means that getting them in a perfect and solid tune might be a bit tricky. With that said, I think the beautiful voice of the A175 is well presented here. :)
