for everyone correcting me on the timeline i said “In Late 1990” (meaning the year alone) not late 1990s as in the decade

As far as your intro statement is concerned you may have meant to say "in late 1990" but you can quite clearly be heard saying "In *THE* late 1990*s* " An easy mistake to make & to correct. No need to double down on it.

Even going so far as to be dropped in on top of everybody elses tunes. Some DJs would keep it cued to use to fill and thrill the floor. The bigger the hall, the better. The bigger the crowd the better. The louder the system the BETTER!

Although her voice is comparable to theirs, her story is different because Aretha and Patti were younger and small sized in their rise to fame. Like many people, they put on weight as they got older - toward middle age. She was bigger sized in her youth/the beginning of her career, so she didn’t have the time to be marketed like they did before her fan base was able to carry her like theirs did in their later years.

By the 90's it was all about the music video. Aretha and Patti got their start in the 50's and 60's in the Black community where your talent was more important than your size. I actually only accept lipsync when the artist performance is amazing, or if they're dancing a lot

I remember back then watching the "Strike it up" video people were saying that sounds like Martha Wash(when she sings she has a distinctive voice).

Do a video on Jody Watley. A forgotten pop sensation from the 80’s who was Janet’s first musical rival, and was also competing with the likes of Madonna & Paula Abdul.

I've been a huge fan of Martha Wash for years. When I first heard Gonna Make You Sweat in new it was her. When I heard Black box I knew it was her. All of them denied it at first until she filed her lawsuit. Shame on all of them!
