Have owned both C class and E classes in last couple of years ...both great cars but my E class convertible is an amazing ride and real headturner, especially when Charlie my German Shepperd is riding in the back looking like he is the Lord of the manor and I am merely his chauffeur.

The space demonstration in the back of the C and E class look pretty identical from what I could see in terms of the distance of the knees from the front seats.

Owner of an E class......the E class is superior to the C class in every single aspect. From size to interior comfort to features....hence it is 1 tier above the C class......so for most people if you can afford a new E class there is no reason to buy a C class....I think budget constraints is probably by far the biggest factor affecting the purchasing decision but was obviously not mentioned at all due to marketing reasons (car dealership ad)

From personal experience the build quality on the E class is superior to the C class, similar to the situation with bmw 5 vs 3 series and A6 vs A4.

At least in the U.S. market, The E is higher end compared to the C. That was evident when she opened the doors and you could see the cheaper seats and plastic door panels in the C vs the finer leather, wood door panels and Burmeister speakers in the E. The C does come with sportier models for the driving enthusiast but you still have that cheaper interior. If you prefer luxury and better finishes, go with the E.

if i buy a well maintained 2014 eclass, how much can i expect to pay over a 5year period on maintenance ? and how long will it generally last ? 200k miles ? 300k ? 400k ? looking to spend 7-9000 on one within the next 3months.

with my c300 I have put about 6,000 in 5 years and I got it when it was 6 years old i would get a newer 1 with low mileage

Go for the Service Plan as Mercedes do go the extra mile without charging. That's your base figure. As the owner of a C200 2010 I can say that you're buying in at the year the bills get far higher. If I recall correctly, two services ago the total hit around £2k with new tyres included. These cars aren't cheap to maintain. Also independents don't have the software updates or emphasis on reliability given Mobilo is extended with each service giving full roadside assistance, up to 30 years, or 999,999 miles. So your answer to how long will it last is, 30 years, or 999,999 miles, providing you entrust its maintenance to Mercedes. On mileage, pay more attention to a full MB Service record. Look at Honest John for recalls and model faults. On a final note, always remember the original list price of the car when considering future maintenance outlays. It may only be £7-9k now but it has bills mounting based on the original list price and parts based on that too. They're not cheap cars by any means. But fantastic to drive. And gives me a smile every time I turn the key and see that star!

Only in terms of ride. SE might feel softer in driving, but again, depends on the model you chose. I suggest going for a sport edition. It between and AMG and an SE

I love the c class, I have a C250d AMG line premium plus and it’s just perfect. E class is nice but a bit too big for my needs and I find it for the older generation

MShallah that's exactly what I'm after too akhi. How much did you pay for it? Was it over 25k? I'm after a premium plus petrol 2019 model+ too with less that 25k miles on the clock. Is that realistic from my side? Thanks

@@meti9230 nah bro mine is older 2017 model I picked up for £16k bought it to use it for private hire but 2019 and under 25k miles you should be able to pick up for £22,000, might have to travel far. I had to pick mine up from wales

@@rex86uk your car sounds solid 👌 wow Wales does sound far but the prize made it all worth it. I'm in London. Imagine all the 2019 C class Coupe I've found for 25k miles have been 27k. I pray I can find a top spec one like yours for around £25k. Will be over the moon.

@@meti9230 yeah I’m from london too and the same car here was costing £18-19k but then found a dealer down wales called westgate vip made the trip on the train and back in the car with £25 diesel! Very economical mine is a c250d so £30 tax per year as well

Good explanation of everything. I personally think the c class is nicer, e class has bit of a fierce look grill. Diesels are no longer popular in general. Petrol or hybrid would be the option to go for.

Just cannot buy a C class so long as the centre screen looks like it's been nailed to the top of the dash using Dodgy Dave's IPad fixin' kit. One of the worst details I've ever seen.
