I thought it was kind of odd celine being in a deadpool track, then, after knowing this was a comeback song for Celine after mourning and struggling from the death of the love of the her life, her husband, Renè, she is the most appropriate artist for the song.

She also lost her brother to the same cancer as her beloved hubby, not long after and her brother passed on Renés birthday. So she was struggling so much more than just her husband. But like above said Ryan’s father passed; he wrote a beautiful long letter to Celine explaining all this but also telling her he understood not being able to let it out positively due to not having someone as an outlet.

The fact Ryan helped Celine through the roughest part of her life when her husband died,when she was just out there with these young men was very sweet and a special moment for her and Ryan. The interview with Ryan about this moment was so very heartwarming that he reached out to her and essentially saved her was so endearing.

I watch a video about Celine Dion's grief because of her loss (husband and brother) and really had a hard time to move on. Ryan Reynolds (who also lost his father) wrote her a long letter of encouragement and personally requested her to sing the Deadpool 2 themesong despite the presence of "millennial-friendly" singers out there. This inspired Celine Dion so she accepted the offer. Such a beautiful story.

I'm glad Ryan Reynolds got her back to singing and helped her heal. Her husband's death was very hard on her. She was having a very bad mental breakdown. But Ryan's letter brought her back from self destruction. Depression is the worse thing that can happen to anyone. Please seek help before it's too late. We all need help from time to time.

Growing up my mother(a french canadian) would always play Celine in the car. Every time I hear Celine sing it reminds me of those car rides with my mom. I'm now in my 40s with 3 daughters and I am not ashamed to say that Celine is my favorite female artist. Everything she sings is with heart and soul.

I saw an interview with her about that song. Yes she didnt want to do but her husband talked her into it. She sang the song in one take as a demo and thats the one they used in the recording. I also read she sang it with no music and the music was dubbed in later. That I'm not sure about.

Was listening to this song for several years,but only now realised some interesting and very emotional co-insidence. In Deadpool movie this song is pretty much a tribute to Wade's beloved woman who was killed. And this song was sung(may be even written as well) by Celine-who's beloved husband has died. If you think about it-this is a match made in heaven. I even think,that Ryan Raynolds has offered Celine to sing this song for the movie so she could pay a tribute to her husband. That's just so heartbreakingly beautiful❤❤

It was Ryan Reynolds who helped Celine move on. How sweet it was for him to write her a letter, knowing somewhat of what she was going through, because he recently lost his dad. Losing a person you love so much, just kills you. Some people are stronger than others and can deal with it better. But the love Celine and Rene had was so powerful, she feels so much, that's why she lost so much weight. And Ryan was the only one who helped her, he got through to her with his letter. What a beautiful thing for him to do.
