Andrew Luebker it was based on the C1 Shuto racers of the 80s/90s there also 6 films based on it I have them you can find some on here too

That was done intentionally, the real Japanese name was "Shutokou Battle" and Shutokou is a slightly different way of saying "Shuto Kōsoku Dōro" which translates to "Metropolitan Expressway". Basically, in the original title of the game, the entire point of the game was to race on a recreated version of the Tokyo expressway system as inspired by the car culture surrounding it in the 90's.

Well, there is a group of modders who remodeled it and you can drive majority of the Shuto expressway now in Assetto Corsa. Incredibly detailed. I recognized every corner on the video. Even the starting place, that is Tatsumi parking area.

rotary doesnt use pistons, it uses a triangle that spins, its hard to explain without showing you, but since the only moving part is the rotor (the triangle) they can spin to amazingly high rpm's resulting in gobs of highend power, the only downside is they run a bit hot and get horrible gas mileage.

the supra and RX-7 were released in america though, and the new GTR cant really be put in the same category as the Skyline GTR's.

what you just witnessed was lift oversteer. deceleration through a corner shifted enough weight forward to cause the rear tires to reach their limit of traction, thus kicking out the rear

its the ideal way o shift in a rotary idiots in a rotary the drive shaft is actualy spinning way faster then the engine if he where to shift nomally the clutch acually drops the revs 2-3k and in a turbo its to keep that spool in the key area to where no lag occurs at all

DJ Haze no he’s just shifting frequently, my guess is this RX-7 isn’t turbocharged and because rotary engines deliver peak power at high rpm, he’s constantly needing to change gear to get the most out of his engine

YeSS, some times he does Rev on upshifts. I don't know about RX7 but on old race cars was common to help you to change gears.

The footage and the audio are not synced. You can hear him coasting while the footage shows him blasting down straights. And you can hear them mashing the throttle while driving slowly around tighter turns... What!?

Why is everybody here trying to sound smart rotary this rotary that. Just watch the video, enjoy it, and move on. I know none of you have driven a car at this speed in any streets in the US. So quit criticizing the driver with the shifting. If the car makes sounds when shifting gears it aint your problem. Its his car his money and he's enjoying driving it. Just appreciate.

that sounds like either a Subaru motor (horizontal) or a honda (longitudinal) rotary blocks are oval and tiny, they go from 1.3 to 2.6 liters. theyre awesome engines once you master them, they love high rpms. they just take alot of time to get them perfect@LoveThatBass921
