For those that are wondering, this video is taken from option video. This clip is from a video from Chiba-kun, a guy who frequently goes through wangan and record videos. He was very famous around there and capture some pretty amazing videos. The guy never owned a car as far as I know and always rode on a bike LOL. This particular video was when he was invited to go on a speed run with a GTR skyline and a Mazda RX7. The two drivers were going to run on the newly built Aqua line. The aqua line is underground tunnel that was built under Tokyo bay and it cost roughly at that time $40 to go one way. The skyline blew its motor mid run lol. The 2 drivers are from well known tuning shops. And before anyone asks, I do not know if they were original members of the midnight club. Hope that helps.

Chiba-Kun is actually the Chief Editor of Video Option and owns GTRs from R32 all the way up to the R35. The whole Chiba-Kun stuff is a skit just to give insight of the Wangan scenes. The "bike" you are talking about is when he got his license suspended as a result of speeding on C1 in his R33 which there is an actual recordings of Chiba-Kun getting speed trapped and was forced to attend a lecture at a police station.

They were not members of the midnight club. Midnight club doesn't allow that kind of access. Never has. The new Midnight Club in Japan doesn't allow access from outsiders either. The Midnight Club in the USA does not allow outsiders. Edit: Not to mention that looks like a relatively cheap GT-R to have belonged to someone in Midnight Club...It looks almost stock. Midnight Club wouldn't even associate with someone like that. You need to have money to join. Lots of money.

There was something magical about this type of racing which no game can fully simulate. Top speed racing is very mentally exhausting because it requires your brain to process things much faster and be much more aware of what's approaching you. That, and being able to build a 600+hp car that can go flatout for half an hour is something else too, the heat generated from such setups is immense and only properly tuned cars can hold up to such abuse. It's sad most racing games take none of this into consideration. You can slap some turbo's on a Supra in Forza and just go flatout on a highway, but it doesn't come even close what it would be like in real life.

Just shows how far ahead of the times the Japanese really are. In tuning, drifting, technology and highway road racing. Turbo Skylines doing 300km in 1999?! It's only now the U.S have caught up to tuning Skylines due to 25 year import laws. These guys were doing it when the cars were new!! R32 in 1989, eventually banned in racing. Even the camera technology was ahead of the worlds....because of the world war, all the engineering of aircraft went to motorcycles, that's why it took off in the 1970's with 4 stroke technology and Honda's CB750. 1st disc brakes, inline configuration and big power with 750cc. Honda made motorcycles before cars and everyone knows how reliable and powerful they can be. Best flowing heads in the auto world. Motogp Champions too. The biggest manufacturer in bikes based on volume. Big fan due to being of quality parts, paint and fitment, reliable, user friendly controls and resale value is better than all the big 4: Kawasaki, Suzuki and Yamaha. Other brands may be faster, more powerful and more technology, but overall nothing beats a Honda (motorcycle based opinion) sorry for long rant and bringing bikes/Honda into it.

Americans laugh on Civics with their mostly fart sounding engines but please show me an American 1990's engine that is friendly for city driving, reliable, getting really good MPG and power figures of 100 HP/litre (B16 for example) American engines of the time were undescribable pieces of shit in comparison, so laugh all you want.
@tristyn1124
@tristyn1124 4 жыл бұрын
Wymiatacz Plays I could name some LT1, LS1, Ford 5.0 as a matter of fact both LT1 or LS1 both we’re capable of getting up to 30 mpg while maintaining good power and torque. Calling them “indescribable prices of shit” is a lie there’s a reason why people love the LS small block. As a matter of fact some of the JDM cars you love have been LS swapped. Silvia S14/S15, RX7, Miata, etc. As far as reliability Again LT and LS wins. The engines were also physically smaller than the Japanese engines(RB26 2JZ). As well as maintaining the strength to be just as powerful. Don’t bring up Hp/liter because it’s a useless argument and silly to compare cars that way because a small block Chevy still produces more power and torque while being almost just as light. You my friend are what’s wrong with the car culture. Just being a hater and not knowing the facts. Go ahead and do some research next time before making a fool out of yourself next time. I’m not laughing at JDM cars I’m laughing at your misinformed statements and ignorance.

You mean exaggerates the hell out of it with it's mega death lens fisheye. This is what I've come to realize about driving/racing videos: people judge how fast someone is going or how hard they're pushing based on the lens used. If they use a more honest, narrower lens people complain they weren't pushing it, but if they use these crazy mega death lenses people think it's the fastest thing they've ever seen. If you've ever flown in an airplane you went as fast as these guys before you left the ground, now think about it, did it look that fast? No.
