As a child, all I wanted to do was go to the vegetable truck job and deliberately get the wrong one just to listen to Donald get mad

Wow, a game where you do endless menial work in order to buy your ungrateful nephews a playground. If this doesn't prepare children for real life, nothing will.

Oh the memories. Me and my friend used to sing the theme song when we met at the streets. Every time! We both played the game on C64 and we were both "part time musicians" . We just sang this song as loud as we could! No words naturally just the humminm. Many people thought we were crazy but we were just remembering our childhood 😍 and the best part was that the first time we realized that we had played the same game we were both so happy abd nostalgic 😊

Quite a different world now, you don't get to just move a cartoon character across a screen to make money, you can't make money either without getting joint and back pain or dealing with assholes, you can't make $2 in just three minutes, you can't buy a tire swing for 26 cents, and you're "overqualified" so you never get a chance to try it anyway At least they did something about the trains. Those were dangerous.

Mitt Romney bought AmQuack and fired everyone, that's why toy stores don't need a sliding door to hold everything in place, and 10% of the profits went to those "And I'm a Mormon" ads on KZfaq that nobody sees due to Adblock

I used to play this one when I was 10 or so. Its such a cute game with good design for its time. Still humming the tune to this day. I would thank Al Lowe for this gem (and Larry ofcourse) if I could get the chance. :)

It's amazing how Al Lowe made one of the very first video games I played on a Commodore 64 and he went on to make one of my favorite franchise later.

I still laugh at Donald Ducks quacking at the vegetable sorting job (ie. 9:18)...I used to deliberately play this game just to hear at as a child.
@vksasdgaming94725 ай бұрын
Donald makes close to 50 dollars for hour doing these odd jobs. Average salary in US at 1950s was about two dollars per hour. That means Donald has ludicrously good salary, but it can be expected from world-famous film star.

Created and music by Al Lowe... where have I heard that name? :D Anyhow, we played this game a lot when I was a kid. As an adult now I see how it helped with basic calculus (money amounts), motor skills, cognitive skills, basic alphabet... all with soothing soundtrack. Classic Disney.

A quite special game. It looked good for the time it was released (1983 or 84 I think?) but I didn't play it for long. It felt more like educational work for children but not like a real game. The big Disney figures like Donald, Micky Mouse or Goofy looked quite impressive back then in the cutscenes but the gameplay parts weren't that impressive. Music was bad I think. I had this on a 90 Minute Tape full with games from that time when I got my first C64 with Datasette years later. I found this game by loading through the tape which had many games on it. Fun Fact: Al Lowe who later created the Leisure Suit Larry-series invented and programmed Donal Duck's Playground.

This is a great game. It teaches kids that toys cost money and in order to buy the things you want, you have to earn it doing work for others to make enough money. I learned how to count money with this game when i was 3-4 years old. Such a great learning game for kids i wish my kids had the same opportunity to learn from this as i did. Games now are a joke compared to ones like this from my chuldhood
