As I saw those gradients with not-so-much-C64 colors, it was clear to me this is Kodiak's work. This is similar to his demo with the fighter and UFOs. I have read his development logs on his site, but it was pure alchemy.

Wow, that's got to be the biggest and best selection of pixel art so far. Love it. I understand if you're finding it more difficult to fill a monthly round-up but I'd welcome new features like the flashback. Do what's right for you, but I look forward to the monthly episode. If it's once every two months that would be better than nothing. I'd hate to see them stop altogether.

Some really nice new titles! With SeaWolves looking particularly outstanding. Corescrape reminds me a bit of Xenon, think I'll try it. The diversity of Dr. Mortal Wombat's games is impressive, even if they're not always new classics. The art section was also lovely! Graham Axten sure likes Manic Miner, he even did an improved version of it, as he found the original C64 conversion a bit lacking. Bear Essentials is a nice choice for a flashback; I also enjoyed playing it a lot. Thanks for another great round up, cheers!

I'd love to see Dr MortalWombat do a full fledge game one day but in the meantime his quarterly releases hit the mark for many players.

@@RetroGamerNationIf he concentrated on one game for, say, a whole year, that could indeed be a very special release. I'm still very impressed by how many genres he's tackled with generally quite impressive results.

Thanks again for another hugely illuminating rundown on the very much alive C64 scene - I simply love this series of yours and hope you keep it up for as long as there is life still in the old hardware. The pixelart sections are just mindblowing, unbelievable how well that turned out, in retrospect. Also, you've got many, many friends from these - at least we're you're friends in spirit - you bring happiness and love to thousands mate - don't forget! If I was a UK resident, I'd invite you to my local for a pint (of milk, if neccessary! :) Thanks again man, I've got a huge backlog of C64 round ups just sitting there waiting, and just knowing this pleasant window into our shared world of color, logic and noise exists, gives me peace of mind whenever an ounce of boredom tries to make itself known to me, up here in northern Norway. Keep'em coming!!!

Well how do I dare stop producing C64 Round Ups after that lovely feedback. Truly touched by your kind words. One thing you are absolutely right about is that I have made many many friends through RGN and I think this is something I don't want to give up. As for the pint...we'll you are going to have to make it two as I am from Australia and we like our beer cold and plenty of it. Cheers from Southern part of Australia!

Thank you for making these videos! SeaWolves looks great. Reminds me of a Windows 3.11 submarine hunting game I used to play, but with the roles reversed. Really impressed by what the developer has managed to do with the limited color palette of the C64. Art in motion.

I always wished that I had artist talent to produce something as good looking as the various pixel art images you include. Alas, my attempts at drawing (on the computer, or in real life, never came out very good. Anyway, great video as always. :)

Yeah me too. A couple of months back I had the inspiration to try and draw up a level that would represent a 2D version of Last Ninja. I can visualise how it should look but putting it into practice was a whole different challenge and will require a lot more practice.
