Cab Marker Lights Replacement

The cab marker lights on my RV were simply dim embelishments on the roof of the RV cab. I decided to replace them with some new LED cab marker lights. There are 5 marker lights on the front of larger vehicles and in this video I show you how to install cab marker lights after removing the existing cab marker lights. Aside from being on the roof of the RV, it's a pretty easy thing to change out your existing cab marker lights for new ones.

This B+ class motorhome was the perfect hybrid between the huge and cumbersome class A RVs and the class C's that have that horrible-looking crop out over the cab area (no like...). Is this the best b+ class motorhome? Well...I'll let you be the judge of that. :)

Thank you for this video! I will need to replace my marker lights at some point in the near future and this gives me the confidence to do it myself! A few questions: Did you go back and seal around the outside base of the light fixture and screw holes with decor later after filming? Did you have any problems locating studs in the ceiling for the screws to bite into?

Oh good. I'm glad that was helpful. I did not add any seal in addition to what you see me do in the video. The foam bottoms on these lights gave me a lot of confidence that they would seal if I screwed them down sufficiently. Just like the original lights, there are just mounted into the fiberglass (no studs). That said the fiberglass dome I have up front is pretty thick and the screws grabbed fine. Also the new lights have a bigger footprint than the original lights and there for the holes for those original lights wound up being covered by these new lights. They've been on for a year and there has been no water leakage or internal fogging. They also still work fine. Happy with this upgrade. Way better and way brighter than the originals. Hope that helps! Be careful on the roof of the RV...it's a far way up. Safety first. :)

So…evidently the old light screw holes lined up with the new ones? I would still have put a bead of caulk around the base of the new lights just in case if they did come loose, water couldn’t get through the base of the lights into the RV. Good job …

The holes did not line up. The new lights were much bigger in footprint though, so they covered up the prior light holes. I believe I did put some caulk on there, no? Did you swap yours out as well on your rig?
