My son and I take an amazing first cab ride on Southern 6133 EMD FP7. Engineer John is so informative. Super day.

Engineer John, making memories to last a life time. I worked with John a few days ago. Indeed a great fellow, one of the many awesome folks who keep history alive. I work with the train crew as conductor and brakeman. Thank you for sharing this great video with us. Come back and visit us again soon!

Thank you and thanks for all that you do! All of you at the NCTM are pretty special folks. We are so blessed that you are preserving this history.

I paid for a cab ride on the Royal Gorge Route RR circa 2005. I forget the exact model, but an F7 I believe. Exciting. I was saddened by the death of a conductor many years later.

I run a GP7, GP10 and a 1920 060 coal fired steam engine at the HVSY in Nelsonville Ohio and it's a blast

I loved that part. Did you see that truck with the locomotive sized air horns? I think that is my next big purchase.

If I can ask why did the enginemen leave his seat? If there was a safety control foot pedal the train would've stopped. 😕

Can you tell me what minute on the video that happened? I do not recall at any point when we were actually moving that he left his seat. There was a point where we switched back to forward from reverse...it may have been then, but we were at a full stop.

@@PiedmontCentralRailroad it's at 24:19. The locomotive was moving in reverse.
