Continuing with the Cab Ride's, today we bring a section of 50 kilometers, specifically from General Cruz to Chillán, towns located in the Bíobío region that are part of the central line of the Southern Railway Network of Chile, specifically the section Chillán - San Rosendo, a sector that was once electrified and after the 2010 earthquake, culminated in the construction of the entire section, thus ending the electrical traction between Santiago - Concepción and Santiago - Temuco.
The journey lasts 1 hour and 25 minutes at a maximum speed of 40 kilometers per hour over the entire 50 kilometers of the route, surrounded by speed bumps on bridges and culverts, which increase travel time for riders. Freight trains that constantly circulate in the place, as well as for passenger services that sporadically leave the area. Although a passenger train can go faster given its operating conditions, these same bridges and culverts slow down given their condition, which has remained the same since 2010 after the earthquake.
