I have the same unit. I have been using it for a year now. Works great for me. Just make sure lip of bag is clean and dry.

I have a really big plastic cup. I put everything in the cup, then put the cup in the bag, then dump it. keeps the top of the bag / sealing area nice and clean. I've also contemplated cutting out the bottom of the cup and using it like a funnel.

Have you tried vacuum sealing live animals yet? My current one does not seal too well with all the movement

Your chamber vacuum is similar to the avid armor models unless it’s the same company

I was wondering if it was the Avid Armor. I have the Avid Armor USV20 and the panel looks very similar. I wonder how this one stacks up to the JVR Vac-100.

Something I didn't mention. You must use smooth bags. You can't use Foodsaver bags, the ones with the channels in them. I never tried it, but there are warnings in the manual where it specifically says you can't use them. That was kind of a bummer for me because I have of lots them rolls laying around.

@@gee191991The warning in the book is in big bold letters. In my experience, when somebody goes out of their way to add a warning, especially in big bold letters, it's probably best to take their word for it. :)

I haven't ever had a problem using Foodsaver bags. The worst that can happen is you don't get a good seal, which probably could be fixed with a little longer seal time. I have been using the VacMaster for 5 years now. @@wiseguy0774

You can use the Foodsaver bags with this unit. I called the manufacturer, and they had no problem using those type bags The manual also calls for having 2 LED lights in the chamber. The unit does not have any LED lights in the chamber per the manufacturer. The manufacturer feels that Cabelas missed copying some of the information when they wrote the manual. So go figure not everything is perfect.

Anyway to tell if it needs a break? I intend to do Hundreds of packages in a row. Already 66 seconds per bag to seal is a while. (Add another minute. Hum ) Doesn't sound COMMERCIAL. Commercial should be 100% duty cycle.

Nice looking united wrong choice of vacuum Sealer Obviously you Because of the looks. Not How it's internally made. Which is what counts.

I did my research. I'm not running a commercial kitchen. Comparing specs, this is an oiless unit tested to 200,000 cycles. You can spend three times as much, and you get exactly the same specs. I've never bought anything from Cabelas that didn't live up to my expectations. So when it comes to these sorts of things, you have to have a little faith that the seller is going to have a good manufacturer approval process and quality assurance program. I'm sure Cabela's is not going to put their name on a piece of junk.
