Dear owners of Anne's cottage: I was her best friend and wanted to let you know that I liked your video however you did get some facts wrong. Anne was a crochet artist and yes, did live in NYCity. She also lived in a tent for two years on her property BEFORE she built the tiny house w/o running water and electric. Then she lived in that little house for at least TEN years. It took her a very long time to save the money to build the cottage you are now living in. I took many of the photos that you showed from Annie's book. She was an incredible, kind, gutsy woman and a great friend. I have never stopped missing her after all these years.

Your parents did a fine job in raising such a gentlemen. Thank you for sharing the cottage!

Such a wonderful moving story about Anne and her dream cabin. Our family have recorded about our building, with lots of pictures, over the years. We started building it on Memorial Day weekend in 1984. My parents came up with their motor home to help with the foundation. I have a picture of my Dad, looking out to the valley below, saying, “This is going to be nice.” Little did we know then, Dad had cancer and died 7 1/2 mos. later. 👍🏻

This is an amazing story. We all set forth in life to live a way that makes us happy. In doing so, we strive to make others happy as well. Even when gone, many of us would love to have our visions enjoyed and remembered. She did just that. And the beauty is that you are doing her mission as your mission and someone will hopefully pick up your mission and make it theirs. I recently sold my Bed & Breakfast after 20 years of joy. The decision to sell was easy however, the right owner had to come alone. Several offered but the 'personality' wasn't there. Finally after 4 years, I found the right couple. When I handed them the keys, I also gave them the history of the Inn; four boxes of photos, three sets of house plans, the location of a time capsule, and the trust in that I believed in them. My second journey began mid last year and the path for happiness will be laid within the soil. Where it goes will be determined by the flow of inspiration. Thank you for your channel. Your cabin and spot in the woods is truly breathtaking (and I don't even like snow!) Anne would be so proud that you and your wife are carrying on her memory as well as enjoying the love she had for her little piece of heaven.

Thanks for making this video - it's truly inspirational, and you have given us a great idea to apply to our own life! We built our dream house a few years ago, also somewhat cottage/farmhouse style, and in a much smaller town in the Shenandoah Valley. Like Anne, we also moved in just before Christmas, and have been living a charmed life ever since. We of course had no idea we'd have to endure a year-long pandemic, so having our new home to quarantine in has been an added bonus. We also saved and documented every step of the design and build process, including plans and pictures, but have been pondering what to do with it all. Seeing you two as a young couple appreciating and enjoying the hopes and dreams of a prior generation gives us a vision for how someone might someday enjoy our dream home, and thus a sense of purpose in creating the documentation of our house to leave for future owners to enjoy. Thank you so much for continuing Anne's dream, and for inspiring us as well.

Wow ! This really touched my heart and hit close to home. Im struggling to keep the home my grandparents built and is now passed down to me from my Mom . Im an only child and her passing was so unexpected . Taxes and such anyway I'm sorry. It just made my heart glad for Anne that her treasure will be enjoyed and took care of by a great couple.
