While at the NAMM conference this year I learned there are actually instrument cables made specifically for bass guitar made by ‪@monsterproducts‬
With a thicker copper wire it apparently carries the low frequency better.
Check out the Monster Cable MONSTER BASS cables here:

Shout out to Devon Smullen for sponsoring me into NAMM this year, check out his breakthrough basses here:

I just got the monster bass cable… I haven’t A/B’d them with any other cables yet.. but as of now it sounds pretty great. I will admit I love the new design of the new monster cables compared to the older ones from the early 2000’s Also most guys I knew growing up in the 2000’s are still rocking those cables… they do kinda last forever

Michael - I have Monster Cables and love them, but with so many great wireless options out there, is it even necessary? Spend the money on the wireless and skip the cable? What are your thoughts?
@ExtremeBassGuitar
@ExtremeBassGuitar 2 жыл бұрын
I think it's a great option, what wireless system do you like using?

Shure has a stomp box model that automatically links for about $500. It also has a built in buffer and can control the cable length effect by lowering or adding db levels.

I have that cable but what I don’t like is they kink or curl easily.. opposite of relaxed cable that lays flat on floor.

I've been to a lot of studios and one thing every professional agrees on is that cables have a very low quality ceiling. You should always get decent cables and treat them well and they'll sound just as good as the boutique stuff
@ExtremeBassGuitar
@ExtremeBassGuitar 2 жыл бұрын
I've noticed the cable choice that studios make are those old stiff cables that apparently sound better than anything.

Michael, have you heard that Monster ends are just a tad larger diameter than all other brands? I've read stories of input jacks on amps that over time have gotten "loose" if you always use a Monster cable. And if you put any other cable in the jack it doesn't connect like it should and can screw you in a pinch, like if you Monster cable fails. Check it out and let me know? I use Planet Waves and Phil Jones cables.

Haven’t experienced that but yes, I appreciate the added girth, which helps the plug stay in the jack more solidly than normal.

Do I have to get a couple of Bass cables if I want the true low end if I play out of pedals, or do I just need one of them going from the base to the first pedal?
@ExtremeBassGuitar
@ExtremeBassGuitar 2 жыл бұрын
Ideally all of them or the tone will get lost in the thinnest / smallest cable with the most resistance.
