Thanks Lars! 29:57 - you don't actually have to reselect all of the edges. Just back off the arrow to 0mm again. Now you can just click and add the edge you need.

Very important! To start rendering, it's either a teapot or kettle icon, not watering can. As in "this will be a while, go and pop the kettle on". Don't mess with the tea. If you were an Englishman, that would be a hanging offence under 1672 statute "for treasonous offences against Her Majesty's most sacred beverage, Subdivision vii - Using tea to water one's garden". Really enjoying these videos and learning a lot, thanks!

Always love your tutorials Lars and really appreciate all your efforts. I can never catch the livestream or rarely check the recent Facebook videos but instead rely on KZfaq to notify me of something new. l have a suggestion that might help people like me and newcomers on KZfaq looking at your tutorials. The Facebook videos seem to end up in KZfaq with the generic title "Last night's Fusion 360 Absolute Beginners". Would it be possible to title the Facebook videos posted back onto KZfaq with something that gives an idea of the content? I think it would help you with new people who discover you on KZfaq looking for specific information in the title. You have an amazing body of content and the titles, in my opinion, are your best cataloguing and discovery tools for subscribers and new users. Cheers, Michael.

Hi Lars , Thanks for the video ... at 21.52 when you try to put the rectangle in the center of cylinder . it get constrained or fixed to the center automatically. but in my case i can create the rectangle on the center line but cannot constrain at the end of the road. i can move my rectangle. how to constrain it down to the center of the road
@MattMcNeill
@MattMcNeill Жыл бұрын
I also got this problem. As soon as I select the rectangle tool there seems to be no way to anchor it to the face of the cylinder.

If anyone have some idea how to make it. I am looking for somekind of clip, 2 moving parts which after you push some pull it will stay in place together firmly. I am looking for that to fix heatbed on 4 side, so it will be less vibrating and more stiff. Any idea?

Hey Lars, thanks for doing these. I have an issue i struggling with. At 15.30ish when you're doing the fillets, the arrows to pull the fillet out are in the opposite direction. How do i reverse it? Thanks.
@cadcamstuff
@cadcamstuff 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Angry_ Automaton Thank you for watching! Sounds like you might have two different bodies? Check the bodies folder on the left side of the screen. You need it to be one body if you want to create a fillet between them. Hope this is useful. BEst, Lars

Lars - right at the beginning - how are you switching from the orbit tool to "normal" mode. I find that I have to click on the orbit icon with my mouse and then hit escape to get out of it. (I am on a mac)
@cadcamstuff
@cadcamstuff 6 жыл бұрын
Hi scoostraw Thank you for watching! You should be able to orbit by holding down the middle mouse button and the shift key at the same time. No need to hit escape. BEst, Lars

Your contact set stopped working at 40:18 because the second ring actually got nudged behind the key. That's pretty cool, but a little confusing.

Hey Lars! Can you please give a quick lesson sometime on best practice to measure up real life 3D objects without a schematic to then model in Fusion with/for? I know its not a Fusion 360 lesson directly but it would be helpful. Have a good one!

When doing a video, would it be possible for you to have a drop down menu showing all the dimensions of the project, so that we can concentrate more or try other options on how something is done, rather than having to rewind each time to find out what a dimension was, if we got behind at that time.

Im having an issue w/ F360. For some reason my display shows "Design" where yours says "Model". All the tools across the tool bar are different. The drop down doesn't show the "Model" mode or selection. Do I have the right version? or is there a control I'm not picking up on to select "Model"
@cadcamstuff

Hi John, This video is recorded with the old UI. Model is now Design. Some of the menus has moved around, but the general model is the same

Hi Lars, I really enjoyed this tutorial, but I have a problem, at 32:57 when you drag the plane, the stuff under it moves too, but in my model the bar gets longer but the stuff under it doesn't move, I was wondering if you could help me out. Thank you, Amir
@cadcamstuff

Hi Amir Samir Thank you for watching! It sounds like you maybe have sketched on the wrong plane? Not hundred percent sure, but I would not worry too much about it. Sure you got something out of the video Best, Lars

Thanks Lars! I'm an old AutoCAD user - very old 2D versions, but completely new to 3D. I'm trying to find the time to watch all of your beginner videos from the start. I'm just getting into 3D printing as a hobby. I'm a retired widower, with 40 years of CNC experience - from operating to programming - from 2-Axes lathes to 13-Axis Swissturns. So, I'm determined to not let Fusion beat me - LOL. Thanks for the videos!

I'm a bit more advanced now in FUSION but I've always thought that the most confusing thing in FUSION is the ORIGIN shown on the screen vs. the "cube" and their relationship to one another. The plane shown on the ORIGIN, at the bottom, is actually the TOP when referring to the Cube AND none of this has any relationship to the X, Y, Z axis' used to cut the actual part in CAM. Any comment?
@cadcamstuff
@cadcamstuff 6 жыл бұрын
Hi B Tomas Thank you for watching! Yes, it is a bit confusing. There is no rules for front, back and top. So the CAD companies early on decided that they wanted Front to be the default plane. The CAM companies came in and decided that Top makes sense( we really only had vertical machines) So when CAM came inside CAD, the CAM end just got their own coordinate system so they did not have to fight with CAD. Hope you have a great weekend!
