Nice review, Simon. This one got me excited when I saw it. Mine should be arriving soon. I"ve always like the SKX, but it's always felt a little too big for me...at the same time, the SKX013 always felt a little too small....so an SKX style watch that's right inbetween the 2 sounds like a dream. really happy the dimensions check out and gets me even more hyped for my green one to come in.

A mineral crystal cyclops on a sapphire crystal is a sneaky thing and a petty cost saving measure and kills that watch for me.

Good review but you missed the BIGGEST thing going for this homage, the fact that the dimensions are excellent. It´s smaller than the original watch that is "homaging", but it's bigger than the smaller new models or the old SKX013 that was too small for many Seiko enthusiasts. To me, it is a unique proposition that Seiko is not addressing with their 5KX line. Take note, other YT reviewers, the dimensions are what make this watch stand out from other Skx homages, and even the OG ititself Best regards

I take your point mate, it’s dimensions are definitely a HUGE plus for this watch and bridges the gap between the models you mentioned. I don’t mention watches but this is homaging the SRPD59. Thanks for watching 👍👍

@@WatchtheTime right, that model has a 22 lug width and a 42.5 diameter. It is ok, but I prefer the 40 mm and 20 lug width. Mind you, I have a 5kx of 42.5 diameter and also the OG Skx013, but always prefer the 39 to 40.5 mm watches. Have a great weekend

If I get it cheaper at 11.11 I would mind the cyclops. I got the y@chtmaster homage from them and the orange dial is quite good, looks like they nailed the sunburst on this one. It's a solid watch and a solid review, right on time my man!

I had the Seiko SKX in orange and it’s one of those watches I’ve always regretted selling. I definitely ‘need’ to get one back on my wrist and this review has just scratched that itch again. Tempted by this watch at a third of the price but will hold out for the real McCoy. Thanks for another great review.

It looks similar to the Seiko but honestly the Seiko is fat superior. You never know if you're going to get a dud from these guys. I got one which tells the time but the rest of the chronograph is all over the place. I'll never again purchase one. Thanks for the review.

Nice one Simon. Love how the dial really pops in the light....I opted for the Stealth and it will be interesting to see how it fares in the lume department. Still waiting on it.

this is a interesting homage, as the Seiko its based on is 42mm, and pretty much everyone has been crying for Seiko to make a 40mm diver. If they release a GMT version of this I'm sold.

If they make a V2, they should opt for the NH36A, a daydate movement, and drop the cyclops. It would look more like a SKX. I put the 5KX sunburst gets into a SKX013 case, making it a true diver.

talk about a great morning chuckle... I just stumbled across this new model from Cadisen while browsing AliExpress. I literally had it in my cart and clicked "buy", but cancelled it because... ....OF THAT DANG CYCLOPS! 🤣 I went back and messaged the company to see if I could get it without the atrocious "watch wart"...(waiting to hear back) ...then I found your spot on review. 👍 Cadisen seems to trust you, so I have a huge request: PLEASE, I'm begging you, ask them to tone down their logos and branding!...not even Rolex uses a 6 pt font on their dials, and that's what people pay for... they have multiple watches I would purchase, but they brand worse than Invicta 🙄 It really makes them look cheap, and it doesn't even remotely come across as "luxury". I've messaged them, but I'm just a nobody without a KZfaq channel. many thanks for your excellent reviews...no fuss, no muss, and honest...very much appreciated.

Cadisen makes some of the best bang-for-the-buck watches but many of their watches have sharp edges on the bracelet or the clasp (ie their sub homage). I had to use an metal file on mine. Hope will will rectify this issue going forward.

They've done a nice job on this one. I own a couple of Cadisens and they've held up quite well. Cyclops can be removed for those who can't get past it. I imagine a milled bracelet would have bumped up the price considerably. The orange was a nice choice Simon. 👍

I have to be real honest with you the watch is nice the price is not SO cheap but not SO expensive either but the problem is that i am very VERY tired about homage watches and SEIKO NH35A movements on every pilot chinese watches or chinese dive watches.

I love that vibrant orange dial. The clasp is disappointing, but that's replaceable at least.

Has anyone had success removing the cyclops from this watch? If so, how did you do it? I've had difficulties with some cyclops removal in the past. Aside from that, beautiful watch, fair price...I love the size. Thanks for the great review, Simon!

Perhaps on camera the alignment is off, but in reality it’s pretty spot on tbh, I take your point on Seiko though 👍👍

I received my watch in blue today. Although I like the look and size the bezel looseness is a big turn off. Also although the bezel lines up at 12 and 9, 5,7 and three do not. I think it has to do with the cheaper ring itself. It seems to be on all the examples I have seen in print and online. The bracelet is comfortable but man is it ever sharp. I mean mine is really sharp. Running +8 isn’t too bad. For 57$ I guess you can’t complain, but if I can get a steeldive 1953 for 53$ and it’s of so much better quality Cadisen should really step it up.

I can’t say I noticed mine being sharp at all but I have heard similar things in the past. And as for your comparison to Steeldive, you make a very valid point that is hard to argue with 👍👍
