I have an 80 Honda cm400T and you're really an inspiration and a guide to what I would like to do with mine. I certainly don"t have the tools and experience but I'm going to start small, change fork seal, change bobber seat to cafe racer, clean and perhaps change some parts on the carbs, new exhaust (mine is fritting cause of the rust) and hopefully be able to ride again this spring. THank you for your videos.! :)

I had a 1978 CB 400 T2 for 10yrs,, they're incredibley good & reliable little bikes . Your Build is SVVEET though . Keep up the good vvork & vvishing you Many Years of Safe & Fun Riding .

This is one of the best build vids I've seen. Was taking the lower crank case easy on this bike? Meaning does anything fall out when you take it off, can't find anything about it.

Great job, really liked the timeline and some of the customization you did on the spot. Visually, clutch cable seemed a bit awkward to me. Do you keep polishing the gas tank every so often or used some solvent to prevent rusting?

Cheers! I clear coated the tank so no worries there. Yes, clutch cable needed to be shorter...

Roco Dux I had every intention of keeping the paint, then I found a funny air bubble. Turns out the tank was rotten on the bottom. Have since replaced. Appreciate the comment👍. Cheers.

Good day there!! Love the build. That Motobat battery, is it a gel type and more important, did you not have to change the charging circuit as I've heard that some of the older bikes did not take kindly to lithium or gel and tended to pop the batteries? Keep it up. Cheers,Joe.

I actually had to change the rectifier/regulator anyways as the old one was shot. I upgraded to a more current one. Thanks for watching!

I enjoyed watching this rebuild sooo much, I recently got a cm400e that I would love to custom a bit. What did you pour into the tank, it looked like paint or a metallic liquid?

It the POR15 3 step gas tank treatment. the last step is the coating that re-lines the tank

Shahed Nabi just a standard gel paint remover. That particular one is made here in Canada.

It's called Heirloom Max. I think its made here in Canada. It's a gel so it hangs on to vertical surfaces. You can see it here... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/r6pxY6eIpsfSZnU.html

Young Mechanic16 thanks! I originally ordered some shorties from eBay with very little baffling. Ended up being too loud. I’m the end went with a 2-1 system from Mac exhausts. This was after the video was posted. Cheers.
