Is 'Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon' on Switch worth getting excited for? (NO SPOILERS)

If you've never tried Dark Moon, but you're interested in the visually enhanced version coming to the Switch, I'm here to help catch you up!
Or even if you have played every Luigi's Mansion game, I've still got some interesting speculation on what the Nintendo Switch remaster could end up looking like!
I'm very excited to cover many of the awesome looking games announced at the 2023 Nintendo Direct. I plan on checking out Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Pikmin 4, and Super Mario RPG as well!

Graphics look like an HD version of LM2 as opposed to a full on visual remake. Maybe the polycount is a little higher on the character models, but that's about it. Tbh, the 3D effect was probably the only impressive aspect of LM2 in terms of visuals. As for the game proper, there are things I like about it more than say, LM3, and I do feel that it is more atmospheric (which isn't saying much). Neither LM2 or LM3 can hold a candle to the first game IMO.

It was one of 3 games I had for my 2ds but i put nowhere near that amount of time into it lol. The other 2 were Mario Kart 7 (obviously) and 3d land- this one I hardly touched at all...

I remember playing this game all the time in the past during midnight when I’m not suppose to be up. It brought back so many memories… I’m glad it’s coming to Switch.

It would be great if, like with Pikmin, Luigi's Mansion 1 gets an upres port with minor improvements (like Pikmin 1+2). The Switch has a lot of potential for being the definitive way to play Nintendo's first-party series if they're willing to make all entries available on one console, like they did with Pikmin.

In my opinion they need to remaster both Luigi’s Mansion 1 and Dark Moon in a sort of two game collection to make it worth the purchase. I love Dark Moon but I probably won’t be buying a remaster on Switch unless it comes with part one or maybe an expansion of some kind. I don’t want this to be like the rdr1 port where it’s way too much money for what your buying. If they include remastered versions of 1 and Dark Moon then I’d happily buy it.

I wonder if we will get the first game at some point on switch. porting overthe gamecube og shouldnt be much more work than say pikmin. Itd be cool to have the whole trilogy on the console tbh. i doubt they would do the grezzo port considering its most likely a lot harder to port over than the GC one.

I want as well as everyone else is a remake of the first Luigi's Mansion game that has enhanced graphics similar to Luigi's Mansion 3 and updated designs for the ghost and Luigi. Edit: 4:37 Heck if they do something like this for Luigi's Mansion 1 I'll be totally fine with that.

They do have the 3DS version of Luigi's Mansion, which updates graphics a bit as well as Luigi's design. Plus it makes the game work better on handheld. I have a video on that game too in my Luigi's Mansion playlist if you're interested lol.

I know this comment is old but his calls in this game are nowhere near as annoying as they are in 3, lol. When you turn off "Egadd hints" in that game he still bombards you with the simplest concepts like some baby if you take longer than a minute to do something especially early on in the game, where you are probably a lot more interested in exploring than actually progressing.

Would prefer a remaster of the first game. The atmosphere and art style in LM1 is far creepier and memorable than the later games and sadly, I doubt we'll ever see the series return to that kind of tone and presentation.

I loved dark moon as a kid and i already have it pre ordered from best buy. I just wish they had done both for the old Luigi’s mansion games. I never had a game cube and i didn’t get the 3ds port of the first game.

Luigis mansion 2 is probably my most Favourite game ever , but from what i've seen i like the 3ds graphics more. I like the darker colors more , and the somewhat square graphics are somehwat realy fitting i dont know how to say it

Maybe its next year vecause they also going to put the first luigi mansion on the game also. In my opinion it's only way to make worth it. Because I don't feel like paying the price of a switch game for one 3ds game.

I played it on emulator perfectly fine, its been maybe half a year since I did it but to get it to run properly you needed to change a setting, can't remember what it was but if you search i'm sure you'll find the solution.

I changed every option possible, I even tried different versions of Citra. I think it's just something about my CPU or GPU that doesn't work great with it.

There's no way it'll look as good as 3 sadly, but even if it only looks a little better I'll be happy to play it on a current gen console. Also something I didn't mention in the video, I hope the audio is better. Hopefully they still have the uncompressed audio files so that we can hear the sounds and music clearer than ever. I think it depends on what the price tag is and how much is improved. But even if it's expensive and not much is changed, it's still a way to play Dark Moon at high res on a TV which is cool.

As a long Luigi's Mansion 2 fan, I think its best to just wait until the game comes out and see how it is once it releases. Besides I only want the remake for Scarescraper because its the best version and Mansion 3 ruined it with the lame ass bosses.

I just say this that all games that were designed with the 3ds in mind and got a port to switch feel horrible to play on it. The second screen being gone really fucks things up. One example is thenladynlayton game and how bad it feels to solve puzzles on the switch compared to 3ds

In the context of Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon though, the touch screen was essentially nothing more than just a minimap, something seen in Luigi’s Mansion 3 but tucked in a corner and worked, so for this remake of Dark Moon to do essentially the same thing shouldn’t have really any issues
