I stopped watching tv for years and I don't miss it! It's important to get rid of it if you want to think independently.

As an 'older' person - dad of 5 daughters, we unplugged the cable a long time ago, and I can tell you it has been the best thing for our family. We do still get the 'over the air' channels, but it is limited. You can meet some of my children at SEEK 2017 in San Antonio in Jan!

I cancelled my tv/cable about a decade ago (in my 20s) and have never regretted it. I just watch things on purpose now (movies, netflix) instead of flipping through channels and getting nothing or getting discouraged or negative. Oh and I have DVD's of the good old cartoons like Tom & Jerry for Saturday morning throwbacks :)
