Bought this as a first bike 3 weeks ago. Love it! 400 miles in and no complaints. I do agree that you have to have some discipline and start slow because this is a serious bike vs the 250 I trained on during the MSF course so I wouldn't necessary recommend it as a first bike but if you're mature and in good shape it's possible. Mind your manners for the first week (100 miles)until you get use to the power, weight, throttle, etc. Rode for 70 miles today on city, highway and back roads with a rev max around 10-11. Feel fresh and ready for another ride with no vibration issues. Thanks for the help Cager!

Yeah definately on a sporty bike. The best thing is when someone throws their own thoughts out there and also gives reason. not just "hm.. I dont like that.. feels wierd.. donno why i dont like this bike.."

Cagerina, ha! Nice video review. I always enjoy your videos and look forward to the next one. After a 20-year hiatus, I recently got back into street riding. I strongly considered the CBR650F for the sport touring and canyon carving I enjoy doing here in Southern California. But I ultimately bought a 2015 Ninja 1000 ABS, which you had also previously reviewed. I love my bike and ride daily. Keep up the good work!

Honda is doing some big things in the 650 class. Hopefully Kawasaki will respond with an updated 650 using a triple or 4 cylinder engine.

When you are talking about the expression one would have between the two bikes, it reminded me of Inglorious Bastards. The scene when the Nazi says, "Oooooo that's a BINGO!". Not an insult. Just something I found funny.

i watched another video which the motorcycle was very close to finishing break in the vibrations is not the engines fault its the piston rings they are not seated yet so when they are the vibrations should stop plus the quality that's so weird because the one down at my dealership in Canada non of the motorcycle have lose parts even the very cheap ones so i think who ever built it did not do a good job on this one i wish i could show you a video but I'm telling you that they are built well down here in Ontario.

Hi CagerOnTwoWheels, thanks for the wonderful review! I, like you, was really curious about the CBR650F and was hoping that you would get a testride on one soon. I've been to a motorcycle show last weekend and could finally test ride the CB650F - sadly they didn't have the CBR - and i couldn't feel any "buzzyness" at all, just a smooooth machine. Did you feel the same vibrations on the CB you rode? how are the two compared? Since they are basically the same machines, just clip-ons and fairing added to the CBR... BTW: Love your videos, watched everything, since you started :-) You rock!

Isn't the xj6 lighter than this? and fatter tyres do make the bike less nimble, I assume Honda had picked the 180 to make the bike look like a supersport, or as close as possible, because it's 70-ish rwhp just doesn't justify the use of a 180. Not sure if the XJ comes with ABS, because it's pretty old, and that's also something to consider.

2:58 do you think the cbr 650 f is suitable for a beginner who never rode a motorcycle except a 71ps bike during drivers license lessons? Initially I was looking for a smaller bike like the 500r. but I am quite tall (6 foot 3ish) and I feel more comfortable on the 650 f. just not sure whether 87ps is good for an entry bike, allthough I didnt have trouble with the 71Ps when I made my drivers license

Mixed review then, and I can't stand digital tachometers . I've got a YZF-R125 presently, but for me when I move onto something bigger I think Yamaha R6's seat height will be too high, Yamaha definitely has something against short people. I like the Honda CBR 600R a lot, but the power delivery might be too much for me as a newbie, I like the VFR800F but 800cc might be too powerful. This bike could be a better option.

Bons vídeos no geral!

Hi Cager... great review. I have a question... If you could afford either one, which bike would you prefer: Honda CBR500R or CBR650F? I already own a CBR500R, which I am happy with, but wonder if the CBR650F is worth the extra cash. The additional horse power sounds attractive but I question if the difference justifies the extra investment. I also would like to know if you think the 650 handles better on the highway. Is there a big difference in handling? I use the bike for commuting. PS: I am a fairly experienced rider that also owns a Harley Davidson Fatboy for touring.

How would you compare this to the ninja 650 with ABS? The Ninja is about $1000 cheaper here (although I haven't gone in to a dealership yet). Personally I like the way the 650f looks over the Ninja quite a bit, but the Ninja looks like it'd be more commuter friendly.
