We took a trip to Cahills Crossing in the top corner of Kakadu at the entrance to Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory. We didn't have the balls (or the permit) to actually make the crossing this time around, but watched the 20 crocs waiting for a feed as others braved the bridge across. We didn't get to see any cars get washed away, but we have heard it happens! Definitely worth a visit, and make sure you get there at high tide.

Sorry mate, no matter how croc wise you are, you shouldn’t risk putting your kid/s too close to the edge. Accidents do happen, just take a moment and imagine if he/she slips… you will regret your whole life. Just be extra careful ya

It’s almost like the human and crocs have an understanding of each other. I’m pretty sure if a human accidentally slips in the water, the crocs are willing to give a hand
@Veralidainai

More like they're willing to eat a hand. There's been plenty of incidents and 100% of that is due to human stupidity.

They must have loads of human fatalities as most of those people standing on the edge are way to close. Plus it's massive risk crossing when water is flowing over. Crazy place.

I was born in a NSW hospital with a Koori name and I spent my childhood getting bitten by a whole manner of things, however with scars to this day on my right knee even a larger goanna is a unlikely fatality. Everyone there seems to be judging the crocodile's threat by their previous behaviour ? I'm not a wild life officer but most apex predators could play chess if they had thumbs, & when around them I give a wide berth heh :)

@Wildman Adventures I am from Africa and I noticed the same on the net or social media. This term 'infestation' is totally wrong! The next course of human action, is 'extermination' after 'infestation'. Rats and cockroaches 'infest' an area or space...these crocs are 'populating' a space, nature intended them to be in. Thanks for 'clearing' that up! 😁👍

Any bridge would not last, that part of Australia has massive monsoons during the wet season and the rivers all flood washing away roads and infrustructure.

Again, it’s a national park and prone to flooding in the wet season. (Monsoonal downpours) They close in down at times. This is tropical Australia and it is also a very remote area.

So think a better way to build a bridge there..no Matter how remote the place there's always a way to make it safer to cross the river.. instead risking your life.
