The world famous Cahills Crossing is well known for crocodiles, and this is where humans and crocodiles meet.. humans crossing the river, and crocs crossing the causeway.. but sometimes the crocs don’t move, as they have right of way.

@@WildmanAdventures Yes I am a retired herpetologist and I have trudged in the wild with alligators alligator snapping turtles but the worst was being attacked by a mother cottonmouth moccasin, she was a real bitch. She chased me across a bayou and up a hillIn one of the most bad ass bluff charges ever, I slipped and fell going up the hill and I turned around and she was right behind me reared up with her big white mouth open showing me what a bad ass bitch that she was. After it was over it was very funny and scary at the same time. I’m sure that you’ve had close encounters as well.

Extraordinary footage from 3:04 to 4:00...simply prehistoric apex ambush predator. I have a question...how was this causeway erected in such crocodile infested waters?
@WildmanAdventures
@WildmanAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
I was constructed with caution hahaha The area isn't infested with crocs, just inhabited :-)

There is a native reservation on one side and a national park on the other, apart from tourists it’s for supplies to get through in what is a very remote area.

I said they’re intelligent in some ways and not so intelligent in others, and that was in reference to the crocodile chewing a stick. Don’t take it out of context.

This guy is a fool. Crocs are very smart. Its like guys watching naked girls; waiting to take advantage. While your'e standing around talking crap about the Gators, they are watching for an opportunity to grab your skinny butt. They aren't stupid, you are.

spent a period working around Lake Bennett back in the 80's. a government survey team asked where a good place to camp for a couple of weeks while surveying an area around the Marrakai plains on the Adelaide River. sent them to heather's lagoon region, with the warnings DON'T camp on the waters edge and DON'T set a routine. about nine days later they were back, all packed up. I asked if they were finished? no bloody way and they recounted their experiences. every morning one of the guys would walk to the little genset humpy to fire the thing up. and every day they would see this big old salty that lived in the lagoon, 7th day they thought it was a bit close but on the morning of the ninth day the bloody thing was sitting next to the genset. Crocs aren't stupid. they watch learn and plan. another time I was at the old ford on the marrakai, where it used to cross the river. a few blokes had been camped fishing. we were having a discussion about the blokes dog and crocs, the dog was quietly sitting at the waters edge, heard a splash, looked around and no sign of the dog. NEVER trust the crocs. and as the years progress, they are getting, not only more numerous but less and less afraid of man. maybe bringing back some of the 60's and 50's might deter them for awhile. sort the numbers out.
@WildmanAdventures
@WildmanAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
@@slatibaadfast the numbers don't need 'sorting out' The only thing that needs to be adjusted is human behaviour.
