Actually Caillou originated from a series of books written by a Canadian author named Hélène Desputeaux. The first of them was published in 1989. It wasn't until September 1997 that the Canadian companies; Cookiejar, Cinar, and Teletoon created a show based on them and aired it originally in Canada. The show aired in the USA in 2000. This was my 23rd comment I have ever posted on youtube in my life.
