@@alvinware1988 Wouldn't you hate to get hit in the face (or anywhere) with one of her passes?? Her teammates are all familiar with her passes, so Bluder loves her passes as much as her shots. jdw3848 Thank you!! We need everyone cheering who can. S.C. is going to be tough, but I think we can do it. We have 11 solid players and they just need to keep their heads in the game like they have. Bluder had to call a time out after Louisville was up 8-0. She changed our defense and that was truly a game changer. At one point, after Caitlin did her step back for 3, the girl from Louisville just gave a look with her arms up as if saying what can I do to stop her? Louisville's team and Coach Walz are a first class organization. It was a hard fought (but not dirty) game by both teams.

CC has a winning combination of talents that fans are all in on. She's bright, confident, extremely tough, talented and class act. It's not just the 3-pt shot but this is so much more due to her confidence of taking the LONG shot that no one else in the sport is willing to do. This brings the house down as it's totally out of the box of basketball. Most would rather stay conservative and take their shot just outside the line and CC breaks that rule. And just to mention, her court views and passing capability is second to none. And then there is the intelligence of this 22-year old that is highly attractive to those outside of the typical baller who often struggles putting a coherent message together.

@@Charlie-wt7ct You couldn't be more wrong. She ALWAYS gives her teammates credit before herself. Even when asked about a specific play, she will talk about the person who gave her the perfect pass or was there to complete the play. She credits her coaches for all they do as well. She isn't a "watch me" person, she knows that she needs everyone around her to be successful. If she was all about herself, her assist numbers wouldn't be as high as they are. During the NCAA tournament, the announcers picked up on something in the first game, and it got brought up every game, that Monika only had one dribble in a game because Caitlin's passes were so perfect that all she had to do was turn her body and put it in off the glass. Just because there are so many videos of Caitlin's crazy range on 3's, doesn't mean that's all she does. She is a team player, and you can ask anyone on that team, they'll tell you the same thing.

I am not a basketball fan. I am a devotee of women's sports, mostly Uni Hockey here in Canada. That said Clark is a marvel. I have watched all her games in the March Madness. She is at another level. I doubt Iowa will beat Carolina on the basis that Carolina has way more bench strength I think. Still a great player for sure. To use a hockey analogy...she is a blend of Gretzy and Ovechkin! Vision with strength, skill and power. This play was like watching Renaldo in soccer. How in Hell do you leave her , or him, unchecked in a final moment? They will burn you every time! She did !

sgtcrab Love your name, lol. Were/are you a drill sgt? I love your analogy about Caitlin, she is a basketball beast for sure, and we have 2 more seasons with her if she chooses to use her COVID year which every Hawkeye fan is hoping she will do. Our ladies took down S.C. because they knew S.C. had small to no chance of hitting 3's, and our team stayed jammed up in the lane while Caitlin was out there a ways daring a player who was all alone to put up a three and she couldn't, so some of that win was due to that one thing. I don't know what happened against LSU except for very early fouls taking them out of their game. It just wasn't meant to be, but we can hope for next year!!

When my late mother was in the MasoniCare Nursing Home in Connecticut the highlight of the week was the UCONN women's basketball team games and EVERYONE dropped what they were doing and gathered by the big screen to watch Diana Taurasi play. Same level of excitement. Same heroine. I worked for the Chino Valley Unified School District and the sports area in Don Antonio Lugo high School is like a chapel to where Diana got her start and was accepted at UCONN. So sad Caitlin is not on the US Olympic Team.

Many would now say (when she first touches it) that she's then allowed a "gather"/catching step. Then establish a pivot (which SHOULD be the next one hitting the floor, and is not to leave the floor without a dribble/pass). But, at some point (in the last 8-10 years) the rule makers and enforcers (refs) started letting players take TWO full strides without a dribble (OKA/otherwise known as "the Eurostep"; infuriating, silly and ugly in the face of good defense; allowing an offensive player to waltz around a defender AFTER the defender fought hard to get him to grasp the ball with two hands). Add in the carrying/pushing of the ball refs/rules allow now ("as long as players hand isn't under the ball"?) Garbage! We "Old Heads" could've beaten most defense as well of we'd been allowed to "get away with murdering" the purity of the game. We were taught... ya travel, carry, double dribble, etc. You lose the ball! Turnover. It was costly. Even if it was at the end of a championship game! Perhaps it all started when Chris Webber got away with dragging his foot before calling the time out (which his team didn't have! At least his team experienced the consequences of THAT violation; and I was a fan of the Fab Four). Steppin' down from this little soap box now. Nuff said

I live in Iowa and quit watching the Men's team, (Fran sucks and has never got past the second round), but Clark, and Clark alone brought me in. Her skills and range is insane. Led the nation in assists last season and won every award for Best Player. She also has a 3.8 GPA and does a lot of charity work. Clark is class, and whoever gets her in the WNBA will be raising banners in the future. I seriously never thought I would watch a woman's college game....she changed that. And I'm not the only one.
