Best alligator recipe I have ever used or have been served. This is the first time using this recipe and everybody absolutely loved it it was not dry. Alligator turned out moist and tender and delicious. I did use heavy whipping cream with my egg. Thank you

it's better for people that aren't used to it, to tenderize it and maybe add a little cherried honey glaze on it afterwards

But I noticed you haven't made anymore videos in a while and I also noticed...You don't have a lot of views...Which is so sad...Your videos are good quality...Maybe you can look at some tips on KZfaq to grow your channel more and get more views...I'm no expert but give people a chance to see them and then add a new one...Also use social media and your web page to drive traffic to your videos...Hopefully you will come back around and make more videos. Happy Holidays. Thank you...You are appreciated. :))

Always remove the fat and membrane from the meat. Tenderize with a meat hammer. After that you can't go wrong. Just an opinion from a dude born and raised in south Florida.

Hi, I'm from Louisiana and we eat gator, but I've never prepared it. I got some gator meat from a friend and plan on frying it as well. I'm happy to see you fry the gator like I fry my chicken, but I have a question: I'm using tail meat. Do I need to tenderize it? I usually soak my chicken in buttermilk/hot sauce and egg mixture for a bit in the fridge before I cook it and it's always tender. Can you give me any pointers on how to do my gator meat? Thank you!!!

i’d love to know the answer to this too if anyone can help
@smokendt Жыл бұрын
My grandmother taught me to soak it overnight in butter milk (in the fridge) and I've never had anything better. But that was her secret for anything gamy tasting . This works for all parts of the gator. She was from south Louisiana. Man I miss her cooking.

You mention fish fry and soggy batter. But you also use paper towels to lay the batter fried meat on. Paper towels soak up too much oil and then steam the underside of the fried meat, creating a moisture pocket that causes a soggy batter. Next time, lay the pieces on newspaper or equivalent. It will not cause a soggy coating on fish or chicken or anything battered and fried.

The oil wasn’t ready when he dropped the first piece in the basket. Why didn’t he drop every piece in the fry basket at the same time? All that seasoning will over power the taste of the gator meat. This dude is a chef? Right. Why didn’t he lift the fry basket and let all the grease drain off?
@shawnboyce16634 жыл бұрын
Alligator tastes like .... Alligator, it tastes like chicken because you do it the same way as chicken. Right? Same as if I used shake n bake on everything. How about a video on a lightly seasoned recipe for people not from the south (not like me) so, We don't have to trick people to try it (alligator) " it's homemade chicken nuggets." & end the grossed out factor

lost me when He started seasoning the flour... DO NOT SEASON YOUR FLOUR...It's one of the biggest mistakes amateur cooks make and a key tip off to someone that doesn't know what they are doing.
@egun206 Жыл бұрын
?? Can I ask why not?
@Fireworxs2012 Жыл бұрын
@@egun206 What do you think that hot oil does to seasonings? Do you like the taste of burnt pepper, paprika, thyme? The flour forms a coating to protect the meat from drying out and the seasonings from being fried to a crisp. SEASON THE MEAT, NOT THE FLOUR..
@mrbla97833 жыл бұрын
Food was so good yet after he took a bite the rest of that piece got thrown in the sink... 🙄 Hate to have this guy cooking my food and then touching it all and putting it back while he rummaged through it looking for a piece to eat. Bet that first peice he grabbed was raw...
@FrankStein13 жыл бұрын
Really ??? Cmon man if you wanna cook southern get rid of the fryer and get an iron skillet or kettle. Lets cook it right.
@glensmith9580 Жыл бұрын
How many spices is he going to put on the meat? He ruined it. All those spices overpowered the actual taste. Very unprofessional.
