For anyone wondering where the formula for Amplitude comes from, it is simply the sight reduction formula with the sun's (or moon's) altitude Hc set to zero, as the sun or moon sets. In the sight reduction formula, sin Hc will equal 0 and Cos Hc will equal 1, so the formula simplifies to the one we see in this video.

Sir, so if it was East of North (E 0.3 N(=), then u would go up and subtract it from 90 degrees?

For Example if the GMT Exceeds more than 24 hours ,then how we will calculate ?

bro if its a question regarding azumith its generally specified as "the azumith of the sun bore 290 deg" whereas when its generally an amplitude question its specified in the question "the rising sun bore 290 deg" or "setting sun bore 290 deg". from that rising or setting the sun being implied in the question one can get to know that they are asking us to calculate via amplitude method.
