Aboard the International Space Station, Expedition 34 Commander Kevin Ford of NASA and Flight Engineers Tom Marshburn of NASA and Chris Hadfield of the Canadian Space Agency fielded questions from students of the Monrovia, Calif. Unified School District during an educational in-flight event on March 5. Ford, who is returning to Earth in a Russian Soyuz spacecraft March 14 (U.S. time) and Marshburn and Hadfield, who are returning to Earth in mid-May, discussed the research being conducted on the station and their day-to-day activities on the orbital laboratory.

I always love when they say, "maybe one day a smart scientist will solve it, maybe like you" inspiring young kids to take the torch and continue the work that many have died doing.

Because they are going at a constant velocity with no acceleration. Its like driving a car. When you press on the gas you get pulled to your seat but once you speed up and drive without slowing down or speeding up you no longer get pulled to your seat. What is happening is that the astronauts are going as fast as the ISS so its not pushing on them.

Where is a place where all the experiments are all in one place to see them all without having to find each and every one of their individual wording. From all space missions. And do other space agencies share their experiments or don't they fear of doing the same thing as has already been done.

They are actually experiencing 90% of the force of gravity that you feel on the surface of the earth, so what they are experiencing is weightlessness, not a lack of gravity. The station is in a continuous state of free fall technically

Why don't they use hydraulic leg and arm mechanisms to keep in shape. They just wear them and then are in a continual exercise and it keeps their muscles working.

There is gravity. They are falling towards Earth all the time. But, because of the high velocity, they miss Earth, because of its curvature is curving away.

I wonder what shape this spacestation will be covered in space dust a trillion years from now. Just a piece of dirt orbiting this ball of dirt. And in infinite years when the sun warms another planet in this galaxy what people looking at this planet will think of it. That planet has a moon and some debris floating around it. It kind of reminds me of Saturn with it's rings.Only this planet looks out of balance.Mind of astronomer Must put up more debris in orbit to balance the look for future gen

And then a whale washes up on shore with it stuck in its craw. That's just as bad. Or some sort of unforeseen wind throws it way off course and it lands in N.Korea right on top of the guys kid who is in charge what's his name. Anyway the whale bad and the Commie not so.
