This lesson provides useful English phrases and tips to help you build you ACTIVE LISTENING SKILLS while working in a call center. This will help you have a more positive experience with each interaction. Level of English-Advanced.
Welcome everyone! I'm here as an English teacher sharing my lessons to help students around the world who want to improve their English. Whether you are new to this channel, or you have been following me the past year or so, I want to thank YOU for giving me the opportunity to share this with you.
A little bit about me, I was born and raised in the U.S to immigrant parents from Mexico. As the first born, my first language was Spanish and didn't start learning English until I was in school. It wasn't until I was around 10 years old when I became more confident as I gradually spoke more and expanded my English writing skills as well.
Presently, I teach English as a Second language at a middle school. I have worked with both children and adults from several countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Japan, and other parts of Asia. I LOVE learning different things from my students such as their favorite foods, music, and their first language. I believe we all have something we can learn from each other and I take that belief in every classroom I step in.
I'd appreciate the support you can give by simply liking the video, subscribing if you haven't already, and sharing it to others whom you think would benefit from my channel. I am also a student of video editing...lol. I hope as I continue, you'll notice my editing will also improve to make the best quality video I can make for you. Some have asked about private lessons. I'm currently, not holding private lessons due to my current work constraints where I teach in person. I am considering this as an option for later in the future so stay connected!
Thank you so much for all your support! Here are some links to some of my related videos as well. Feel free to check them out! Gracias!

You are right the reason that people call because they have problems that they are looking for solutions to there concerns and as a call Center agent you to listen even if it’s your 100 call of the day and have give the service as the rest of the call you received on that day.it’s not easy but it’s good after ever call you able to fix the problem at the same time able to listen well to there concerns and you made them happy even you were able to give the best resolution to the concerns but you to develop the relationship with the customer because of you listening to them. Because I like that on a call always.

For me the job was not that challenging, the reason I say that is because I am an active listener and once I show understanding and empathy, I am able to resolve the issue of the caller.

Thank you 🙏 for your nice reply on my comment. I am a retired call Center agent of almost 15 years and I started since 2006 at HSBC after 5 years in HSBC. I transferred to Teletech handled Bank of America after Bank of America pulling out of the Philippines. I was able to work at VXI handling account for AT&T and also Comcast for almost 6 years. Now I am on my retirement age of 62 years. I decided to put down my headphones and retire.

The phrase is used when you first mean someone and you look familiar to them. Maybe you met before or they saw you somewhere (online or in person) but they don’t remember where.
