I am despaired to this day that Black Ops II did not receive DLC. It would have been a joy to experience the greatest map ever on the best console ever conceived, Die Rise on the Wii U.

Bo2 on the Wii U was actually my introduction to CoD as a whole and I gotta say I loved it. Specially since the gamepad let me grind without using the tv.

Honestly I really liked the wii u version, we didn't have much money back then(I never owned a console for myself) and I had a lot of fun playing on my uncle's wii u while he was playing his xbox that only lasted a couple of months but it was a great platform to me, and for a while I thought it was a popular platform lol, till I grew up and looked back at youtube videos about it...

I hate that Wii Us are basically useless without the gamepad, and buying a new one is almost as expensive as buying a complete used system

Tbf to Bo2 on the PC, plutonium is probably the best experience you can have of black ops 2. Multiple dedicated servers to choose from, no hackers and tons of quality of life improvements including; all DLC for free, Extra weapons, killstreaks, game modes, maps etc. if you haven't played it on plutonium its 100% worth it, keeping the old cods alive fr. I played BO2 on the Wii U for about 5 years straight. It was literally the only game I was playing for that entire time. My parents’ house has the perfect layout to where I could actually play games on the Wii U gamepad in my bedroom, while the console was all the way in the living room. The graphics were GORGEOUS on the gamepad, and the audio on it was very solid compared to the Switch. As a kid that grew up playing nothing but the Wii and the 3DS, the Wii U’s graphics and capabilities blew my mind away. I asked for an Xbox 360 for Christmas 2012- knowing my parents weren’t gonna get me a PS4 or Xbox One at any time- and they attempted to surprise me with a Wii U instead. I was grumpy about it for years, but now I realize that they intended on giving me a new console, not knowing what it was exactly. I respect that.

I'm glad someone is going over the fact that both black ops and black ops 2 were on the Wii and Wii u, which is a little confusing. But what confuses me more is that the switch was said to be able to play most of the games from the Wii u, and black ops 2 wasn't on that list. I just think it's weird it was on a Nintendo console and the latest one they released (the Nintendo switch at the time) was promoted or at very least rumored to have been able to play the game, and it doesn't come back

you have no idea how great is black ops 2 local multiplayer on the wii u you just needed that pro controller you didn't want to buy, inviting a friend and playing black ops 2 online with no splitscreen while eating sour cream pringles gotta be one of my favorite gaming childhood memories, the no splitscreen was the selling point of this version of bo2 for me, no other console had that, that's why this is my favorite version of black ops 2 to date, the local multiplayer was awesome, black ops 2 was already a really polished and complete game so i never had desire to play with dlc content

A small correction, the servers for this don't use Nintendo servers. It is unknown if the multiplayer will go down in April or not because it is Activision servers. The Wii games lasted online until August 2023. There's also a Nintendo Call of Duty community that was playing on Wii consistently and do still play on Wii U as well, it's just not populated at all times of the day.

3:23 BO2 (and ghosts, aswell as all wii cods apart from WaW but those shut down a few months ago) don't actually use Nintendo's servers despite what the cover says, they use Activisions servers, so there's a chance both games may still be playable online past shut down

When bo2 came out on the Wii U I was the first person to ever figure out how to get off the boat on the saving woods mission. I found it in 2012 and I was like 11 or 12 but I didn’t know how to record or upload anything to KZfaq but I looked up if anybody had found it and there’s was nothing but a video for it came up years later and it was the same strat I did. You can literally swim in the water you don’t fall through the map and you can swim onto land but the ground falls off after about 15 feet onto the island and the only way to get back on the boat is to die and respawn. This works on all consoles

I've actually been able to get into an online game on the Wii U Version Recently. It was only a 3v3 TDM game but was still crazy to see that there are still players on this version of the game

Wii u iss still alive in the switch. Maybe the switch 2 should somehow bring back a home console and has the switch screen insert to boost its power, but when u remove the switch screen you can add a second screen which will be for ds games

Black Ops 2 on PC is a case where you might as well use Plutonium to even play the game. Thatvis if you have the Steam version, because thwre was an update a few months ago where the launcher would refuse to play any games you got from any other ways, as it waa done durring the wake of XLabs' massacure by Activision.

Now days you don’t even get call of duty main games on Nintendo systems, the switch alone could probably run cod mobile or even things like bo3 or advanced warfare. If it can run doom and games like that it can run call of duty

I've put over 100 hours into bo2 on wii u, mostly split screen (actually its called dual screen with the gamepad and tv separate). I have it on xbox as well, but prefer it on wii u! No screen peekeing, and dual screen looks so much better than split screen.

i grew up playing this version of bo2. I remember when they added the nuketown multiplayer map and i lost my shit. The best part was playing co-op zombies in town. I was always hoping they'd add dlc but they never did. Sadly i missed out on some of the best parts of bo2

You could also play using the Wii Classic Controller, although run and jump were mapped to the same button. It's been so many years that I don't remember what knife was mapped to.

you never mention alternative controls - which the wii u have some crappy ones and no "tactical" button layout like sony's/microsoft's/pc's version. anyway, with a 3rd party wireless usb adapter like 8bitdo and mayflash - i could sync in my wii u pro controller and make it act like a xbox controller.

Fun Fact: This game should perform a lot of better than PS3/X360. Wii U has 2GB of RAM (PS3 256MB + 256 MB and X360 512MB) and better GPU. But the gamepad sucks for FPS.

Honestly I would Love to get a Port for each Call Of Duty game from 1 to 9 Black Ops 2 on the Nintendo Switch with all the DLCs already on the Game Card Why stop at Black Ops 2? Well because We know for a fact that the Nintendo Switch is less Powerful than the Playstation 4 and Xbox One and starting in 10 Ghost and 11 Advance Warfare all Call Of Duty games were made with thoses Consoles in Mind so getting thoses Ported to Nintendo Switch would just give an Worst Version than the other Consoles but Black Ops 2 and before were made with the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in mind and since the Nintendo Switch is more Powerful than thoses that means We can get one to one Ports for the Nintendo Switch and since all the DLCs have already been released We can just put the DLCs inside the Base game and sell it like that
