I learned to doublejump, for the first time ever, in this game on that broken bridge in the tutorial, when I was 7 or so. It took me a long long time. And then, in my late teens I think, I replayed the game out of nostalgia and realized this game just has a very finicky doublejump :D I also remember being stuck in the final battle for a very long time (I didn't know English back then, and in my pirated copy of the game the random non-cutscene phrases characters said weren't translated or subtitled, so Fiona's hint was gibberish to me). And while I was stuck, summer holidays began, and I was sent to my grandma's for the whole summer, with no computer available. But after a week or so I found out from a friend that I was supposed to throw food, so I spent the rest of the summer fantasizing about what the next levels would be like (I thought I was only halfway through the game for some reason). And when I returned home in September, my disappointment was immeasurable and my dreams were ruined.
