Installing 1000w of solar power using the Calpha solar panels. The Calpha 200w solar panel is a monocrystalline panel rated at 17v. Using 5 of these together in series provides 1000w of solar power into the workshop. The panels are well built and beat my expectations on power production. A single panel is designed to work with a 12v system. Combining panels in series allows for charging higher voltage systems. The measured voltage output on 5 panels was just under 100v.

am i missing something normal gaming pc's use 850-1200 watt. 1000w is very low amount and will not even boot many gaming rigs

This solar array is feeding my workshop. I have 150w worth of lights and a 40w tv. Then I use a chop saw that pulls 1200w. The power station has a 3.6kw inverter and battery. Now for home power I have 6kw of solar feeding a 15kwh battery and 8kw inverter. My editing pc sounds like your computer power draw however it idles around 300w.

The important part is this 1000w array exposed to about 5 hours of sunshine a day will produce about 5kwh. Use that to charge a battery, and the battery can supply whatever surge you need, as long as your average usage is less than about 5kwh per day.

Please be aware that a 850-1200 psu does not mean you consume that much. At idle my computer uses about 100 watts. While gaming it can triple that easily. I do recommend you measure your own equipment power usage.

My old gaming rig that still has gtx980 pulls around 750w on full load so a more powerfull one I assume would pull nearly 1000. Overclocking ofc makes a big difference.
