Calvin Lockhart was da man. Two years earlier than this movie, he was Deke O'Malley in Cotton Comes to Harlem. And before he played Biggie Smalls in the movie Let's Do It Again (1975), he was Silky Slim, in Uptown Saturday Night (1974). Also Colonel Ezee, in Coming to America.😀

Ah, the Golden Age of Black Cinema and the people who made it happen. Sadly, some of them are gone (Calvin Lockhart, Vonetta McGee, Rudy Ray Moore, and some others). May they RIP. Thank you for the upload. It brings back some good memories.

@@dollydagger4306, just BEAUTIFUL!!! I've always thought he was drop-dead gorgeous. I first saw "Halls of Anger" as a kid and I've always loved the movie. I wish it could be redone, but with more intensity. Maybe show the racism from the Whites' point of few a bit, like have a few Black students at the White schools and then proceed with the story from the Blacks' point of view. The message is still prevalent today.

I was 19 in 1972. Loved Vonetta McGee but the movie was RUINED when she was brutally murdered early on. Hated the movie after that. I stayed to watch 3 more times just to see her beauty.

I just thought of something. Calvin Lockhart could of played a black version of sitcom Fantasy island,he of played Mr Roarke and Emmanuel Louis could of played Tattoo.That would of been a great show.Mr.Roarke was a very handsome man,and so is Calvin Lockhart.He would of fit a black version of Mr Roarke.But his name wouldn't be Mr Roarke it would've a Jamaican name. Emmanuel Louis would fit perfect as Tattoo but the name Tattoo would be changed to something else.Will somebody paint or draw a picture of both Calvin and Emmanuel Louis as Fantasy island characters.Put it up on KZfaq.

Calvin Lockhart was in a British television show in 1966 "Talking To A Stranger" with Dame Judi Dench. Can't find any clips of this anywhere online but google "calvin lockhart judi dench" and you'll see a few photos of them.

FOR A BLACK FILM IN THE EARLY 1970'S THE FILM WAS UNDERRATED CALVIN LOCKHART AND VONETTA McGEE HAVE BOTH PASSED AWAY. I'M SURE ALL WHO HAVE SEEN THIS CLIP SEE HOW NATURALLY VONETTA McGEE WAS EXTREMELY LOOSE AND SEXY AND REALLY WAY TO PRETTY. IF THIS MOVIE GETS REMAID THE ONLY LADY WHO COULD HAVE PLAYED THE ROLE OF MELINDA IS ALIYAH NO OTHER LADY AND SHE'S PASSED TO. AGAIN ONE OF THE BEST BLACK ACTION FILMS IN THAT ERA.

I love him in halls of anger as the teacher Mr Fletcher and Barron in the horror classic the beast must die. hesy daddy and I want my daddy to do Shakespeare or do pieces by Amni baruka ,Sonia Sanchez or even chance. this man will not be imitated. he's my dad and he does prefer positive roles. Jes the best man in bajams. ten years ago my church group had went to Newport and we had just went past the house that Mr Lockhart grew up. he was on good times s pookie poo Raymond. Esther rolled cousin who has s gambling addiction. the last scene when ray return tobthe evans apartments. the real actor is like a Father too me. thanks Mr Lockhart you're the king of romance as always. oxxxxxxx.

Melinda!! It's a guy has it on YT if you can stand sitting through some of the bad areas! I've seen the movie before so I understood it, I watched the entire thing . @@stevenmccaster7173 Melinda ran off with something that belonged to some ppl she was involved with. When they caught up with her she had taken up with a smooth hip talking Dj. (Calvin Lockhart). While he was at work, they searched his Apt. for their package couldn't find it so they murdered her. Calvin was arrested for her murder but his ex-girl friend (Rosalind Cash) bailed him out, then he went on a mission to see why she was murdered. Ex- gf still in love with him decided to help him search for the answers! Then it gets pretty interesting. Hope that helps! Like I said you really had to see the movie before or you'll get lost b/c of the quality of the movie. Dude talks a lot on this recording but I still enjoyed it, b/c I seen it before and I really wanted to see Melinda again so I sat thru.it. I've searched and searched and this is what I found. Try watching again hope you can stick it out. It's a pretty good movie.
