By far my favorite Blaxplotation film of that era. Saw this one when it first came out in the movie theater of my hometown. Great storyline, great soundtrack, production value was good, not great, but better than what had been expected, and most of all, GREAT acting by some of our finest during this time. I also have a copy of the soundtrack (hard to find) on the original lp and download from itunes. The best 1972 had to offer next to Super Fly.

This one's actually pretty damn good, worth buying the DVD

I remember when it first showed at the paramount theater in Goldsboro, NC. in December,1972 I didn't get to see it because I'm a Richard round tree fan for shafts big score. I didn't see this u til I live in l.a. around 1978 on HBO.
