There has never been anyone better...twenty years later...I still feel the loss...heart, soul, love, that is, and ever will be John
@sugarbertie11432 жыл бұрын
I don't know what it is but John's voice gets deep into your soul. It was incredible and so moving, enough to make any grown man cry. This song was one of his best as well. Why oh why do we have to lose our very very best vocal icons in their prime? If only they were still with us.....🥲🥲

I remember seeing this show in Sydney in Nov 94, just before my grandma died, it was that one last bucket list item she hadn't ticked off - she died Feb 95...

He was 52 when he performed this and yet sang as good as when he was 25. Sad that he would die the year after this live show. I have sung a little bit of Denver in my young life but this song is always the one that gets stuck in my head and reminds me of how great a performer John Denver really was. Bye John, you will be missed!

Why did we have to lose him? So full of heart, and so masterful on stage.

Perhaps, like other remarkable people he shot through our skies and consciousness for a brief period of time like a meteor, leaving a vapor of his essence for us to remember him.

Try BW Stevinson "Shambala" and the his other great song "MY Maria" for some more world class yodeling. These songs never get covered, because nobody has pipes like that.

I have no idea how I had never heard this before. I can't stop crying - Loss of JD, the fact that Jacques Yves Cousteau is just a footnote.

To sail on a dream on a crystal clear ocean, to ride on the crest of the wild raging storm. To work in the service of life and the living, in search of the answers to questions unknown. To be part of the movement and part of the growing, part of beginning to understand. Aye, Calypso, the places you've been to, the things that you've shown us, the stories you tell. Aye, Calypso, I sing to your spirit, the men who have served you so long and so well. Like the dolphin who guides you, you bring us beside you to light up the darkness and show us the way. For though we are strangers in your silent world, to live on the land we must learn from the sea. To be true as the tide and free as a wind swell, joyful and loving in letting it be. Aye, Calypso, the places you've been to, the things that you've shown us, the stories you tell. Aye, Calypso, I sing to your spirit, the men who have served you so long and so well. Aye, Calypso, the places you've been to, the things that you've shown us, the stories you tell. Aye, Calypso, I sing to your spirit, the men who have served you so long and so well.
