Do not overtorque your aftermarket camber bolts! Make sure to keep the bolt head from spinning as you torque the nuts down! A cheap and non-invasive method to achieving 1-2° of additional camber in order to finetune fitment.

After tons of videos of guys not knowing what they’re doing I just wanna say thanks for explaining this in a way that make perfect sense. I had tried to installed them today but gave up and reinstalled my stock OEM bolts because I could get them to match on Both sides. I had a feeling that washer tab was throwing them off because they were not seated in the same position. Thanks a million bud.

I'm actually not sure how they measure and label these aftermarket ones. Gonna see if I can find anything. Because the lobe essentially stays the same diameter but the actual bolt portion has to go down in diameter from the original to give it that extra wiggle room.

❓ Great explanation. I'm thinking of performing ^this operation on a 2008 Hyundai Elantra, while also replacing the rear wheel hubs/bearings. I've never done either of these things, but I'm mechanically inclined. The hubs are the primary repair, and I hadn't considered a need for a rear camber adjustment until I noticed that the top of both wheels/tires are angled inward, while the bottom of the tires are angled outward(negative camber, I believe). I've read that the factory specs call for -1.5° for rear wheel camber. My main question is, can the rear wheel hub replacement and camber bolt installation be somewhat easily accomplished by a "mechanically inclined noob"? Can ^these camber adjustment bolts be used on a 2008 Hyundai Elantra? Thanks

If you’re referring to maximum camber, it will always be top facing in and bottom facing out. For trucks, they usually use double wishbone suspension in the front, so these concepts will not work unless you have a MacPherson system.

@Alexhaav Жыл бұрын
They can be very finicky to get out. I usually support the bottom of the knuckle with a jack and wiggle it around and twist it until it finds its way out. I have seen people install them wrong as well where they ruin/distort the hole in the bottom mount to the point where I’ve had to cut them out before. They are relatively cheap, so cutting may be best.

can you run OEM or aftermarket OEM style camber bolts in BOTH knuckle holes on both sides of the car ??? ... just want to know because I'm all about having that extra strength myself

Question for ya (enjoyed the video) I have a project car that vibrates when driven 60mph+. It also has inner tire wear and based on all the research and advice I received, It looks like it might be the camber. I went to get it aligned one time, and the shaking didn't stop, and it's also eating up the inside of a tire that I just got 1 month ago. Everything else looks normal (boots, control arm, shocks) 05' Nissan Altima. Should I continue to change to aftermarket camber bolts?
@Alexhaav3 жыл бұрын
You could, but you should probably assess what's causing the shaking/vibration first lol. Try running hub centric rings if you aren't already. Check ball joints and horizontal runout of the rotating components. An unbalanced tire or tire with improper wear could also cause it. Good luck with finding out what it is! Fixing it would be my first priority.
