my bestfriend is asian since freshman year im almost 30 we both have kids now sons at that .. at school he was the only asian hangin out wit the mexicans haha so adapted to our style even learned to talk spanish only the bad words tho he even goes to my thanksgiving n fam birthdays sometimes and every one always welcomes him

To outsiders who were never born or raised in Lowell, the city has such a negative rep. But in reality, there’s so much community, brotherhood, a big arts culture and such. Not enough people know the struggle and sacrifices our families made before they came to the US. Thank you, Mac, for highlighting my hometown 🙏🏽

I lived with a Cambodian family in San Diego, CA. And I am soooo proud to know all of the food they shared on here as well as the culture. They were refugees and man I have sooo much love and respect for Cambodians.♥️ we can coexist 🇲🇽🇰🇭

The Cambodian culture has been such a big part of lowell when I was back in school 20 years ago we used to celebrate Cambodian new at Butler school they still do to this day they're a big part of our community

What I like most about Macs food related content is that he’s providing us a different perspective on communities in our own back yard. Born and raised in Lowell during the tough times 90s-2000s. Moved to Boston later in life, still visit family up there and always enjoy some authentic Khmer foods in Cambodian town. A lot has changed and change is for the better.

I was born in Lowell, MA and left at a very young age to be raise in Tacoma, WA. My parents wouldn’t tell me much about Lowell but seems like a nice place. MAC be putting us Cambodians on the map respect homie.

To all the Asian peoples out there, right now it's not the time to be arguing and flexin superiority. Right now is the time to unlearn and relearn that ALL ASIAN PEOPLE, regardless of nationality needs to STAND AS ONE. Considering all the Asian attacks happening right now, it's time to unite this 1 unit and look at the bigger picture but at the same, show non Asians we are about unity for all people, and not division.

Alot of people don't realize the hell the khumer people went through especially the elders and some of the OG's during the Khumer Rouge and the reign of Pol Pot. These people came here because they had to...they didn't choose this. They left one war and then had to deal with the homies hear...lot of Latino gangs. Hey..folks found out...Cambodian people are no push overs and will fight. No disrespect to the Latin homies..I'm only stating what I know to be fact. Shout to lowell’s cambodian community. They’re deep out here n they really paved a way for themselves. Even got cambodians in the city council now. People are quick to judge communities they dont know about but step into one of these neighborhoods and it wont take long to realize what a deep sense of community they have. Ties are strong there and people have eachother backs. Lowell as a whole gets a bad rep but its honestly probably my favorite city in the state and im not even from there. Lowell is the city that most fully captures the essence of massachusetts in my opinion. If people only had one place to visit in MA and they really wanted to immerse themself in the culture instead of just being a tourist lowell would be my first suggestion.

@@ChinaMacTV theres a ton of history in lowell. Its the birthplace of American industry. Matter of fact all of Mass has a ton of history. Even a lot of our small little suburbs n rural towns have more history than some of the major cities in other parts of the country. I appreciate u showing our state so much love tho. Being such a small state alotta people misunderstand what its like out here. I watched the cambridge one too. Made me very happy to see. Haitian food slaps n i feel like nobody knows about it. Nothing beats legim tho im disappointed they didnt make u any ahead of time.

As someone who lives 45 mins from there I must say I LOVE Lowell. It's a very diverse city. It's where Irish Micky Ward and Dick Eklund from "The Fighter" grew up and still reside. Also home to UMASS Lowell. Great blue collar New England City!! 👍🇺🇸
