My dad was raised around Khmer Krom people in southern Vietnam the city he grew up was in bac lieu there’s a size-able Khmer krom populations there, my dad speaks Khmer fluently. If you’re in the area go check out bac lieu Khmer krom people down there!

Thyda Cooking channel and Seyha & Food went to Bac Lieu. The people of Bac Lieu are basically Khmer living on Khmer land but are now under another country’s jurisdiction.

@@heythavebac lieu has more significance and in common with vietnamese than khmer. I don't even think khmer has any history with bac lieu. So you can't even call it khmer land.

If you look at tourist videos in Cambodia, dogs are safe and free to hang out in the villages without fear of get snatch up and eaten, In Vietnam you hardly see dogs hang out with the villagers in tourist videos. It is against Khmer culture to eat dogs, it will bring your luck and wisdom down.

@@sknight2810 It is against Khmer culture to eat dog meat. It bring their 'risey' , រាសី, down - luck and wisdom. Usually, the drunk or ones influenced by Vietnamese eat dog meat.

@@ezythodNot only Saigon, but the entire 300 thousand square kilometers of Vietnamese territory is the motherland of the Vietnamese Khmer people. Vietnamese Khmer people can freely move and settle anywhere in Vietnam. Vietnamese people in Cambodia are discriminated against by race, are not given personal records, are not allowed to go to school, and have no housing. Cambodian Khmers are racists and fascists, the whole world should quarantine Cambodia

Toàn thể người dân tộc thiểu số ở vn được đi du học miễn phí và có tiền nửa. Bảo hiểm y tế miễn phí còn người Campuchia đối sử với cộng đồng người Việt Nam ở Campuchia như thế nào. Ko có quốc tịch ko cho đi học. Bạn thử hỏi xem người khơmer ở vn đi họ trả lời cho bạn biết

The entire mekong delta had already effectively belonged to vietnam for a hundred years before the french came. The people were vietnamese, spoke vietnamese, wore vietnamese clothing, taxes paid by vietnamese and officials/mandarins were vietnamese.

Hell no! Southern Vietnam belongs to Vietnam, every inch of it. We Vietnamese fought with blood of our forefathers to unite the country, Southern and Northern Vietnam. Every inch of that land is stained with Vietnamese blood. We returned back modern day Cambodia to the Khmers out of good will, but we’ll not tolerate outlaws.

Vua Khmer đã bán nó cho vua Việt Nam rồi, vua Việt Nam đã phải trả bằng tiền và mạng sống của nhiều binh lính nên muốn lấy lại thì bạn bán phần đất đang có ở Campuchia cho Trung Quốc lấy 10000 tỷ USD, rồi lấy tiền ấy trả cho chúng tôi, chúng tôi sẽ trả lại đất cho bạn. Và ở đó có 45 triệu người, họ là người Khmer Krom hết, họ sẽ ở lại quê hương của họ và chờ bạn đến làm vua của họ nhé.

@@chanthonnkan2311 Người Khmer có thể nói được ba phương ngữ Khmer Nam Bộ vì từ xưa họ là những người tị nạn chạy trốn khỏi chiến tranh ở trung tâm đế chế Angkor/Chân Lạp/Khmer tới vùng đất hoang hóa, đầm lầy ở tận cuối sông Mekong, sau đó vua Khmer đã trao đổi vùng đất vô dụng đó cho vua Việt Nam để nhận lại sự giúp đỡ của vua Việt Nam... Vua Việt Nam và các chính quyền thừa kế sau này đều tôn trọng các giá trị sắc tộc riêng của các dân tộc trên lãnh thổ Việt Nam, nên người Khmer ở đó cũng giống như các dân tộc khác như Hoa, Mnong, Mạ...vẫn gìn giữ được bản sắc riêng thế thôi... Bạn đường suy diễn như thể là người Việt không diệt được người Khmer, vì trong lịch sử người Việt không làm chuyện đó và còn hỗ trợ các sắc tộc thiểu số bảo tồn và phát huy giá trị riêng chứ không phải vì người Khmer là có gì đó ghê gớm lắm đâu.

I can see that Vietnam treats our ethnic Khmer brothers and sisters in the bordering Vietnamese towns very humane and nice. They are allowed to integrate into Vietnamese society and advance forward with the right education and skill sets to better Vietnam, particularly Southern Vietnam. Southern Vietnam is my place of birth and I always hope that S. Vietnam will prosper more in the future. Regarding the Vietnamese living in Cambodia, our Government should step up its games to demand better treatment of our countrymen living in Cambodia. After all, we saved the Khmers from their genocide. Without Vietnam Cambodia would not exist anymore as a country. The Khmers forever owe us blood for their livelihood.

The land that’s is now part of VN was part of even before the Khmer empire. It was split between the Champa and the Kingdom even before Khmer Empire. The Khmer and Champa fought and the land go back and forth until Viet conquered the Champa and took the land under Viet jurisdictions. The place was bare and has no jurisdiction of the Khmer empire as it hasn’t developed and it was sparely occupied by the people. The Viet work in the land and develop it into village and town. Then after Ming Dynasties fall, a lot of Chinese move to the area under the Vietnamese protection to continue to develop the land and became Vietnamese as well…. That Viet and the Chinese Ming who live in the Southern part of China are Baiyue/ Bach Viet people so it is easy for the people to assimilate because we share common culture while the Khmer follow indianize culture. Vietnam respect the Khmer who has resided on the land since ancient time and the people are happy and living in peaceful together with respect to one Anita’s as there is no prejudice. Equal right for everyone. The Khmer Rouge killed both the Khmer iron and Vietnamese when they attacked Vietnam border. I am from Kiên Giang province border with Cambodia.
