A peek at a prototype version of the CAME-TV Crystal-800 Wireless Video Kit. It works like any standard video kit, transmitting long range. But a huge feature here is that the Receiver also creates it's own WiFi SSID that you can connect to from an iOS Device. With an APP on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad you can then get access to the live feed turning your iOS device into a wireless monitor!
With this prototype, the iOS APP does not offer anything like focus peaking, false color, or histograms, but I think that can be done by updating the APP (let's hope they add that feature).

Really cool! It looks like there is a tiny lag on the iOS when you move the camera. I assume there is no lag when it's going to the HDMI transmitter into the Atomos.

The GH5 has latency on it’s own. The atomos, and the ios app all have their own latency too. So i would have to do more tests to figure out how much the actual product has.

Yes it can be powered with 12V DC input...

In theory, could you go from the receiver to a switcher (for a multi-cam, live shoot)?

Look good for the price but does it transmit sound as well as video ?

It does transmit sound, but not good quality. You can hear it has been compressed and may have some artifacts. It would be good to use only for scratch audio to sync up in post. Keep in mind many wireless systems don't even transmit audio, such as the Connex or Connex Mini.

The image quality is different. Some people need higher image quality for recording the stream. If you just need to monitor the wireless feed for reference, then the Crystal is fine.

Can the receiver be connected to the Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio HD?

Yes. But you would have to ensure all of your other cameras are setup with exact same resolution and framerate. That’s required for these Switchers.

Hi, can you tell me how is the quality of the video? I have purchased one here a few days ago. But I feel the video quality is so low.. its compress so hard from C100 mark II to SmallHD 24HDR from 1 meter between each other. it is really unusable and can use for focus pulling. is it cuz of my monitor is too big? and how is the frequency works?

What is the camera HDMI output set to? Resolution and framerate? What does the monitor say when it receives the input? It should not be used for 4K transmission and should only be used for specific frameraes (as mentioned in user manual).

I used 1080p 23.976 fps. the monitor says nothing, when I open both transmitter and receiver, its immediately show the video signal.

Do you think this is a lot better than the Amimon connex?

The Amimom is a better product in that it can stream better quality with lower latency (but cannot stream audio). This set is good for monitoring from a distance if you want to show a client framing or get creative direction on your setup. You can show them through an iphone or ipad, and it is not too expensive.

I just got mine, It didn't come with any paperwork, do you know what password you need to put in to connect to the network, or what app I can use on my apple device?

I believe they may have shipped the product a bit early. From what I know the App for iOS may need another week. I haven’t done my review yet because I too am waiting.

What is that strange interference on the sound when your camera gets close to the receiver bit for the close up?

Might be around the warehouse. The product makes no noise and i’m using a point shoot camera.

MrCheesyCam received mine... mine does make a noise on the receiver.. it is a slight clicking noise

No it cannot work like Sling Studio. Only one feed.

Hard to say right now. The GH5 has its own latency issues, and so does the atomos, and so does the ios app. It’s not all from the product. I would have to do more tests.

Can you compare the latency to a standard hdmi cable? That will be the best way to test.
