Nice build! A few suggestions: a 3D printed cut out for the monitor would be a nice addition. Using one could cover the leads on the right side of the monitor. Also, this extra part could be used to place the power switches on the left of the monitor instead of near the handle. This prevents the user from accidentally switching on the device(s) when carrying since they are that close to the handle. Last tip: using a slightly bigger case would offer space for an "internal" power source (battery or power bank of some kind), which would make the case ultimate portable.
@BombDiggady
@BombDiggady 3 жыл бұрын
Awesome idea! Very cost-effective and smart for traveling producers. One thought: have a custom plate made for the I/O on the back and run jumpers from the ATEM to the plate. That will help relieve stress from the relatively constant plugging/unplugging that would occur in a portable environment. We do this in live production world using companies like full compass and redco when building custom live streaming cases. It may require a size up in Pelican cases, but that would also give you room for a larger monitor and still be within carry-on size for TSA requirements.
@MadeInFranceASMR

Props to you for coming up with this idea and building it! The only thing that came to my mind to improve it a tiny more would be: just a square of Velcro on the back (Top lid) cause you know there’s always something to hang on empty space :p haha more seriously could be useful for battery or wireless HDMI receiver ;)

Well done. Pelican cases are so awesome with what you can do with them. We motorcycle riders do all sorts of things to them for travel cases. Mostly for mounting and running power to them to charge devices inside while the motorcycle is running. One thing I would recommend: a cover for the back panel for all the connectors. For protection from travel bumps and the elements when not in use. Just add a cover to the 3D printing parts list. Add a rubber gasket to the under-lining to the perimeter of the cover: Most electronics places should have that or even use some decent foam that you can buy with the Pelicans and then cut/glue as needed. You can hold the cover in place with screws and velcro or if you want to get fancy, you can rig a hinge/lever mechanism you can probably design with cheap parts you can pick up at Home Depot. Yes, I've put in a lot of thought as I was thinking of doing something similar. Except I'd use a 1520 model case and put 4 monitors in it and fit a sound mixer as well if possible: Certainly bigger than your setup. I just wouldn't want to use one monitor.. And if I use Pelicans for more gear as most studios do, the 1520 would stack better with the others. Again, well done. Your blog will help me in designing my own. Keep up the great work!

Much larger, but I used a ProX 19" Slant Rackmount Case that fits the ATEM mini on a shelf, a sliding shelf puts the laptop either at my fingertips or out of the way, a 14" hdmi monitor covers my second screen, and a rack-mount, switched power distributor handles AC, USB power, and gives me a power switch for the ATEM :) Does a great job hiding the cable clutter and keeps the setup from "spreading out wider" with computers/monitors/switcher/etc. KZfaq makes it sort of tough to share a photo, though :)

@horst_filmfreizeit
@horst_filmfreizeit 3 жыл бұрын
The ATEM mini uses the same Software as the professional way more expensive Blackmagic ATEM production studio switchers which makes it really powerful. You get a fully fledged audio mixer for your signals, you have a powerful build in keyer to use for greenscreen effects or overlays. And if you have a BMPCC 4 or 6k, you can remote control the camera over hdmi within the ATEM mini. (You can control the color engine enside the BMPCC to do color correction for your livestream.) Downside with the ATEM Mini: You don't get a hdmi multiview output. You would need the ATEM mini Pro for that, which is more expensive (but totally worth the extra money, in my opinion...). I don't have any experience with the feelworld switcher, but from a quick look, I think I would still tend to the ATEM Switcher

Will absolutely be doing this setup. Thankful for where I work as I fabricate using a cnc router, a laser and a 3D printer. Was looking for something very cool to work on....found it! Great video :-)
