Honestly I agree. They needed to replace the actor who played Arthur. Merlin and Morgan was the highlight of the show in my opinion. I disliked how they had Morgan ans Igraine as enemies because in the OG legends, Morgan is the daughter of Igraine, not the daughter of Uther. Her blaming Igraine for everything when she herself should have seen the fault of her father's actions was her father, irritated me a lot. Didn't really like how to portrayed magic in the series. The stuff about the knights didn’t interest me at all and their discussion on how to create a good government was a snooze fest. Would've liked it better if we saw politics and battles like taking it from the OG legends of how all the kings, not just King Lot, rebelled against Arthur because they didn’t see him fit to be king. From Season 1, Arthur needed to prove he was a strong king who can protect the land, so we should have saw more battles, blood and gore, and less sex scenes and Guinevere being naked and walking out of the sea. In the beginning of Camelot, it is implied that the reason Merlin is doing this is because he foresees a terrible battle and something terrible happening related to war. During this time and what made Arthur famous as a legend among the Britons, was that the land was under attack by Saxon and Angle invaders. This is why the people were scared. Arthur had to prove himself to show that he can help unite the kingdom and stave off the invaders. Instead, STARz had Morgan be the cause of attacks in order to manipulate the people and show that Arthur's banner didn't do much at the end of the day. There's no order in the land, and even the small attempts Arthur showcase in trying to find justice is too miniscule for it to make any sort of impact aside from that one village he helped. Like you said, it makes no sense why the people would side witg Arthur over Morgan, when from the getgo, even if it was manipulation Morgan made the people the priority and spoke to them, is shown speaking to them and providing protection, while Arthur doesn't even know what's going on in his land least of all what words his sister is whispering. And another thing that bothered me is that for all that I do find Merlin an interesting character , he was a poor advisor and it looked very much like he was using Arthur as a puppet king, telling him what to do insteag giving advice and reason why he shouldn't do what he do. He spends a lot of time bomoaning how knowing too much is a curse to Igraine and how people are annoying and yet provide very little reason nor does he even attempt to convince Arthur not to trust his sister but is forceful enough to say no he shouldn't try and create a relationship with Guinevere. And why oh why did Igraine waited until she was dying to tell Morgan that she saved Morgan from being killed by her father? Morgan was literally cursing from the first episode and Igraine was justifying doing nothing but didn’t bother to tell her the fact that her dad was going to kill her? Like we don't find that out until the end though for some reason Morgan cannot see even after being terribly treated by Lot how little power women have when married to kings? Yeah lots of things were just...

@jjosifovic The series had the potential to be better than BBC Merlin's, though, because at least it tried to be faithful to the original while also giving it new twists. There was a lot that it could do to be better, so even though I'm irritated by some things, it could be fixable. Merlin BBC is my guilty pleasure because it's funny and quirky, but I stop at season 3 because, omg how badly it just turns. But something I think BBC Merlin does better than Camelot is setting up relationships, but maybe that's the point, at least with Merlin, Morgan, and Igraine. The state of these three's relationships was meant to be a mystery revealed as episodes go by, and Morgan makes her moves. I think that's why I was more focused on them than the knights. With the knights, more focus should have been put on them and where they come from, and who they are. Leontes and Gwaine were the breakouts because we found out more about them through their relationship. You're right, Leontes. The way he was written should have been King Arthur. It's weird how they had the King Arthur written like he's some Lancelot instead of a King. By the end of the series though, Arthur did feel like King Arthur... Though him sleeping with "Guinevere" right after Leontes is dead 😬😬 Anyway if I want to get my fix of sexiness galore, I'd rewatch Camelot, especially since I'm a Merlin and Morgan fan, and I like them in this series a lot. I watched it mostly for them. The Merlin portrayed in Camelot is certainly more intriguing than any other Merlins I've seen, though Excalibur's Merlin is pretty interesting, too.
