Camila Cabello -- Theatrical Romantic?

Hello friends, David has not mentioned Camila at all and also tbh I don't think there is SUPER much guidance for her ID in his modern update of the system... so all opinions are obviously my own and feel free to disagree!!!!

I think Camila is a Theatrical Romantic - - she has a petite frame with a short vertical line and is delicately curvy with just a touch of yang.
I rate myself 4/5 confident on this, with my other posible guesses being SG (I don't think she has enough yang to seem like a mixture of opposites) or R (I don't see pure yin)
I think Camila is an amazing "living moodboard" for TR

As a fellow TR I relate to Camila in those very casual, running errands outfits: instead of looking relaxed we look kinda disheveled. It bothers me to no end.

Yeah , I like to wear badass loose clothes but unfortunately they tend to make us look small ... Although some slightly oversize clothes look alright for Theatrical Romantics .....

I find that I'm understanding more about the body types by seeing them in the "wrong" lines rather then theor own. It makes the defining aspects of their particular body type pop out and become more obvious. I hope you continue to show us celebrities in unflattering outfits, haha!

shimmery makeup, and hair with curls and volume is a real theatrical romantic lady. she actually reminds me of Salma Hayek but in a smaller version :)

That’s why I always felt her face and body gave me two different vibes. Her face is so flamboyant gamine while her body is theatrical romantic and she can pull off both lines really well!

I am a TR. I love TR suggestions. I love Spanish style I think it has lots of inspirations for us . For smart or sassy casual, I think some SG suggestions work very well. For polished or simple casual SC guidelines are awesome. They are close enough to TR so they allow me to look relaxed . Because I am 167 cm , I am a rather tall TR, even though my apparent height is 160 cm . Sometimes I take some SD suggestions for half the body or for some accessoriess so it doesn't look overwhelming on me. I look softer in contrast , but too much or full body SD are too much for me😄😜 . I think it is good to be playful with fashion and to understand the basics to twist them for fun sometimes to achieve different results . Breaking some fashion and dressing rules is perfect some times.

I would've definitely guessed TR for her at first glance. I like that you chose someone that doesn't have an ant waist for TR too haha. I think it's a stereotype that everyone in the R family have EXTREME curve and that obviously ain't the case. I'd be interested in a typing rundown for Normani Kordei and Kat Dennings. For Kat I'm sure she's SN with a heavy romantic "essence". With Normani I'm more conflicted between a not-so-broad SN or a straight up SG. No pressure to make videos on them, but I would appreciate your input c:

I would say Normani is a natural or soft natural 😊 if you look at her shoulders, waist and chin it gives a really strong look!

You are absolutely correct that when Camila has too long vertical line in her outfits she is overpowered by it. It almost looks like someone photoshopped her head onto this outfits. She is stunning and looks great in many things but definetely the best when she focuses on her curves and when doesn't try to create too long visual line. After this video I see her as a TR as well. If she turns out to be not TR but other ID I am sure she still would be put in the Yin dominant group. It was really fun, informative and interesting video, I really liked it! Thank you for your work!

Hi Rita. I think you made a great video. I'm glad you chose a Theoretical Romantic like myself. I don't usually find a lot of TR information compared to the other types. What else I am interested in knowing is what if you used all the same pictures and used the Dressing Your Truth system. That's what I try to do. I use both those systems along with my Spring season analysis.

Thanks for doing a video focused on Camila, I'm R/TR and I like to draw inspiration from her! Though since she looks really amazing both accentuating her delicate curves and with mindfully oversized/colorblocked looks like you showed in the video, I can also see her possibly being some kind of Gamine. My absolute fav look of hers is the long white dress she wore on Fallon with the plunging neckline, asymmetric seams, and high slits, I think it's the perfect combo of working with her structure and breaking the rules at the same time!!

Thank you ❤️I think she could be an SG! it's very close to TR physically and it was just that her essence and self presentation seems more TR to me. I don't think she is an FG though, because she just clearly is very curvy and looks great with very curve-centric clothes.

Loved this! Thank you for showing so many examples of ‘what looks good’ in everyday styles. Active wear and casual wear as a TR has been a real struggle for me to not feel frumpy or costumey.

She gives more of a Soft Gamine vibe to me...Her lines are very staccato, also the very big head makes her look even shorter than she is...No really sure how to put it, but there is not much "femme fatale" in Camila. You yourself said that she looks cute, and it is correct, she is more girly, than womanly...This reads as gaminish...

@@StyleThoughtsbyRita OK, now you got me curious :) I am not that familiar with gamine image ID, but they are probably the easiest to recognise. Some of my friends are, and Camila actually looks like them. They usually seem as if made from body parts of different people. Look at Camila's upper body and the lower one, up she is pretty angular, small boobs...This breaks the curve coming from the lower body. This is why she does not handle a long flowing curve very well. Look at the dresses that you selected as best for her, the designer tried to compensate by adding staccato elements. By the way, Givenchy used to do this when styling Audrey Hepburn. Look at how long her arms look - very dramatic. Her face is a small yang - gamine again. Actually her best looks (as you said) are what Kibbe recommends for Soft Gamine. Generally, she is textbook soft gamine: "very rounded body type on a delicately angular frame with a lively and spirited essence. Usually very petite...can look and feel overweight...". She is even casted in adverts to suggest somebody spirited and youthful. Never seen her as femme fatale. Then, she is 23 (not 12). A womanly woman (romantic, classic) looks mature at that age. Not old, but not girly...20 something. They may look like this at 14 :)) TR is made of "trim curves", Camila Cabello is not "trim curves", she is very rounded and she does look very petite... TRs even when petite don't look that petite. Anyway, just my two cents :) Generally, I like your videos, but I see DK's point on typing people from photos... I almost believed that that Camila is TR, then the intuition kicked in...

@@MsCristea sorry but we just completely disagree on this. I don't see any disconnect between Camillas upper and lower body and I see trim curves all over. This system is very much an art and nobody but David has the answers so I think suchlike disagreements are just parts of the game ❤️

I also think she looks really bad in their skater skirt outfits because they are too youthful looking for her even though she's very young there so idk And I think Camilas body is very similar to Jean Harlow, Mila Kunos, and or Jada Pinkett Smith idk what you mean about TR not looking petite. Susan Slavin is a very small woman and she seemed very petite when I met her.

I think TRs look best with their hair shorter, off the face or up in a hairdo. I think her hair is beautiful but too heavy and long for her short, delicate frame.

I love how constructed your videos are. I'd love to see your opinion on fellow youtuber Elyssa's body type, I don't know if you know her but she finds herself torn between two types and made a video about it so I'd love to see what you think about her type. And I'd love to see one about Sophia Bush and Camila Mendes. I also wuld love a comparaison about modern TR and SG like camila cabello vs lucy hale for example. I'm still a bit confused about TR and SG.

I got her exact body type and proportions and i am frustrated by trying to choose between Tr and Sg. I tend towards Tr, i think. The Ingenue label seems to fit me. Ingenue Romantic Ethereal or Dramatic

In the cloud dress, I thought the model looked super strong and I wonder if that opinion would have been so pronounced if I hadn't first seen Camila Cabello in that same outfit. I think it showed the unique beauty of both a very yang and a very yin type, regardless. I'm also realizing I may look shorter than I think I do because I thought Camila Cabello looked quite average in her vertical line, albeit a bit on the shorter side. (I'm notoriously bad for telling height though.) I absolutely adore her in the long plaid jacket ensemble color-wise and style-wise. I'm digging the collar, I'm digging the preppy vibe, and I think those colors are very nice on her. That said, I think it would be even nicer if the jacket were narrower and a bit shorter and so I agree. I've discovered that, in order to have the same dramatic effect a taller lady would have with longer items (be they trousers, skirts, or coats), those of us with a shorter vertical line must wear shorter things. It goes from "What a striking woman" to "Honey, have you lost your mommy?" really quickly. Our long is not as long as their long, in other words. It makes sense, really. Likewise, a more narrow-boned person's wide is not as wide as a wider-boned person's wide. This has been "Stating the obvious". I say a gamine type for sure. She looks awesome in the Smokey eyeliner type look and her jaw is too angular to be TR. i think some of those over the top outfits prove she is gamine, TRs cannot pull those off. It’s kind of like Doja Cat
