This video is about a 20 day - 675 km walk along the Camino de Santiago from Lisbon to Santiago de Compostela, along the Camino Português da Costa, where we pass through Santarem, Tomar, Coimbra, Porto, Vila do Conde, Viana de Castelo, Caminha, Baiona, Vigo, Padron and experience some spectacular scenery along the way.
The Camino de Santiago, known in English as the Way of St. James, is a network of pilgrims' ways or pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James the Great in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried.
The Camino Português (Portuguese Way) is one of the more popular of the routes, with deep-rooted historical tradition.
Typically it takes at least four weeks to cover the 675 km long route, allowing for a few days rest days along the way, but most pilgrims start the Camino Português walk at Porto, as it only takes about 14 days to walk the 260 km Central Route including rest days.

Loved the video! By the way how many miles a day did you walk? And what app did you use for the DJI MINI 2 and for the Camino itself? I’m leaving in april and still not sure where I’ll start - I’m so ready and looking forward to the journey- been planning it for over 3 years!

I think the average was about 30 km a day. But some days I did over 40 as it was really flat and easy walking. I didn't use any special app for the drone just the one that came with it. Enjoy your camino!

Hello, I heard that the first 2 or 3 days out of Lisbon are not that nice. I was thinking of starting in Santarém. Your video does not show the industrial part our of Lisbon. what did you think of starting in Lisbon or Santarém? Thanks

The first part out of Lisbon is really not that bad... I didn't show much in the video simply because it isn't very interesting. The ugly/boring part is over just before Azambuja about a day before Santarem. The train line runs pretty much parallel to the Camino all the way till Santarem so you could always consider jumping off in Alhandra or Azambuja. I personally don't mind industrial areas.

Thank you for sharing your walk on the camino portugal. How many camera/phone did you bring with you? Looks like there is drone/ gopro? Phone? Did you need to stop for long time to make this video(many videos in total). I am planning to walk in November from porto to Santiago. :)

Beautiful video, I really enjoyed it! :) I'm planning on walking the camino portuguese this year as my 2nd camino.. I've walked the camino del norte in 2017. Unfortunately this time I only have 19 days so I'm not sure if I want to go from lisboa to porto or porto to santiago .. what would you recommend? I can't decide :D

The section from Lisbon to Porto is very different from the Porto to Santiago section. From Porto it is definitely more interesting.

I have a pair of Trail runners and some boots for wet or rougher terrain. I wore them 50% of the time.

Hi... I walked in October / November and it was very quiet. I am not sure how it will be in May. I am actually in Pontevedra right now which is where all Portugal caminos come together and am seeing lots of pilgrims. If you want solitude I recommend the Camino de Invierno which is a variant if the Frances which starts in Ponferrada. I just walked it and only saw 5 pilgrims in 10 days / 260 km. It is a beautiful route but has quite long and hilly stages and less services than all the other Caminos.
