Mastercam 2024 is an amazing release because it's mostly about making Mastercam an efficient CAM program to use with radically improved workflow. It's clear that CNC Software now has their shit together and is laser focused on this. I have asked for these changes for over a decade and been trashed for it by the good old boy clique from e-mastercam. Sandvik has tons of money and CNC Sofrware has been hiring like crazy. It's working. They are even making chaining less modal! Saving and reusing machining methods is also less modal. Simulation is less modal. Big changes with a more powerful view cube and lots more dialog box stuff put into their panels. I expect a move now to put dialog box stuff into their panel system. Their new graphical markers for drilling are incredibly helpful. You no longer have to backplot to see what's going on. All I can say is it's about fkn time CNC Software got their act together. I believe Mastercam 2024 is the best release of Mastercam ever.

That time of year? That time to change icons again. When your update is primarily changing icons, your update is just a marketing scam. The cutesy, new, view, box, clicky thing is just click bait. It is completely useless to most programmers because we use 3dconnexion devices. Have you heard of those, yet? This may have been helpful 20 years ago, but now, it's just silly. Why is it that MC never announces bug fixes in these update reports? Probably because they NEVER fix the bugs that we are STILL battling from many years ago. MC is quickly working its way out of relevance as other Cam systems quickly surpass MC with better product features and much better tech support.
