Clay, this is the first video of yours I've seen. The two things I really enjoyed were just how knowledgeable you are in simple but very effective survival techniques and the second was your daughter Hannah who captured my heart the moment she picked up the broken rock and started clearing the camp sight. What an awesome child. Clay, I live in Canada and experience "face" from children tasked with the most elementary of requests, yet whatever task was given to Hannah, she listened, smiled and executed. The only real face Hannah actually made was the one where her love of her Father shone through her eyes. Well done both of you, I loved it!

We been out together a few times but I think I’ll have to get her out more often. I love the outdoors but living in Manchester I only get out every second or so weekend. But hey, we make the most of what we got. I enjoy your sense of simplicity and little fuss. Keep well and keep them videos coming you got a new viewer here bud 👍

Great film as always Clay! I was surprised you didn't take a little salt with you as it is essential for your health, long term anyway. Hence the old saying that comes from pre-Norman times of a man "being worth his salt."
@ClayTallStories
@ClayTallStories 7 жыл бұрын
Salt would have been nice on that rabbit. The idea was to go with just two items of food. When i was younger I use to go bush with just a bag of flour and salt. I would take the fat off the pig I caught from around the inside of its kidneys and do all my cooking in that.

Good day Clay, Awesome trip, beautiful scenery, great to be with family doing what you love, thanks for the trip brother, take care, regards to your dad and all the family, here is a way to cook Kereru. 40 or so years ago we where in a situation that we had to shoot a Kereru for food, with a slingshot, and the best way to cook it is to drop it in the pot, with guts, feathers and all, and water and salt if you have and cook it well. The guts gives a flavour to the stock and you can get it out whole after the pigeon is cooked.And you separate the skin and feathers whole and you end up with the best meal you have ever tasted. Perhaps we were very hungry after a long time in the bush. Regards to you daughter.
