Clear, concise, and amazing video. This is exactly the modification I was looking for on my new Camp Chef Everest 2x stove. Both of my burners now burn at full power (which it failed to do initially when I tested it pre-modification using a small 5lb propane tank and connecting it to the stiff default regulator arm that is included with the stove). This modification makes sure that the gas lines are secured, with enough PSI for the power output on both burners! Camp Chef's website confirms that this is a high pressure stove. Thank you again, Bud!!

Ha ha, exactly. I know he doesn't mean to do it but the way he was going back and forth from all the different parts remined me of the 3 cup magic trick. I was having a hard time keeping track of all the parks. Thanks to those that saw the same problem I did with the lack of clearance between the inner nipple and outer sleave. Regardless, viedo was good because I realy didn't want to kep the origial conection in line with a 20 pound tank.

Hi, Bud. My RV has a propane quick connection mounted to the side of the RV. The quick connection is downstream from the 30 lb propane bottles used to power the RV appliances (fridge, furnace, hot water heater) when off-grid. In your setup, you have a regulator on the propane line you run between the Camp Chef and the 5 lb. propane tank that you set around 15 psi. I won't be able to use an in-line regulator as I'll only have the propane line running between my modified Camp Chef Everest stove and the RV quick connection. Do you know if there'll be enough pressure coming from the on-board propane tanks on my RV to fuel the Everest without having an adjustable regulator in place? Thanks.

To best of my guess, no As the double regulated propane pressure from the regulator is around under 1PSI, which isn’t enough to my knowledge

I certainly appreciate the effort here. But if you ever decide to do a similar how to for something else, I'd recommend not have the table littered with various parts and picking one up after another and referring to all of them as "this piece". If you provided the physical description of fitting sizes including thread pitch it might be easier for us to make sure we order the correct parts. Several of your links are incorrect. Thanks!!

The link you provided for the quick connect adapter results in an adapter with the wrong threads. That one fits the blackstone products. They have a finer thread that comes on the camp chef everest. I've bought 5 now. All claim compatibility but arrive as the wrong threads. Any thoughts on where to actually get one? Thanks.

Second time through the video I see you discussed gas pressure. I assume you meant "inches of water column" instead of PSI? I think the downstream side from regulator (stove side) pressure is normally less than one PSI, pounds per square inch.
@budnixon
@budnixon Жыл бұрын
Camp stoves 10-20k btu run around 10-15psi pressure, while lower btu stoves such as RV industry use lower than 1psi, which goes into the inches of water pressure range…

I came across the same issue. All parts that Bud provided in his links works! What you want to do is actually remove the piece from the *bottom portion. Notice the video and pause at 7:35 to see where the two pieces actually disconnects. I was able to use some long adjustable pliers to grip one half of the 90 degree adapter, and take another pair of pliers to loosen the bottom portion. Once removed, remember to use loctite (the yellow 577 for gas would be most preferred) and then tighten the pieces together like Bud showed in the video. In the video, Bud was somehow able to remove it from the top - which I (like others in the comments) found impossible when I also ordered the exact part. In short, Bud provided an amazing video and all parts do fit!

You need a hack saw or a pipe cutter tool to cut back the outer piece enough to access the bolt on the wadeo elbow. Don’t worry if you cut through the outer thread piece as you are discarding the entire shaft on that side of the elbow.

There should be a female 1`/4" quick connection on your RV that is after the regulator. A quick connect hose with a male on one end and a female on the other should do the trick. Get whatever length suits you. I ordered a 20" hose. You will not need another regulator at the stove.

10PSI you can too, just the knob that controls flame - you'll have to set it to lower setting. I'm not sure about that control valve as far as us overworking it at higher PSI being pushed through line, to me this is all trial and error process, I dont mind tinkering with stuff to find that perfect setting to myself. After all - these items are meant to be used, and most of the stoves nowadays dont last long due to quality of built components if that makes sense. I doubt you'll find any china made CampChefs in 20-30 years, like the good ol USA made colemans

Isn't the problem the high and low pressure for that stove? Camp cheff said i have to use high pressure. And quick disconect is only for low pressure and should not be used?
@budnixon
@budnixon 8 ай бұрын
with all honesty, I have no clue what you are talking about and what they are telling you... :) - I solve my problems by simply going the route of trial and error. These videos are not to simply solve one's problem that started based on other instances, it simply explains what I did and why I did it, and why it makes sense to do it this way. each person to figure out if its what they need. I know that my stove runs just fine between 5-10psi pressure range (at least by the gauge I have on the line), and quick disconnect options offers me a simple way to pack/setup things. Rest - is your own way to figure out and see if this is your answer to your issues/troubles. :) Good Luck

@@budnixon happy to report I finally got it sorted. Finally had an idea while sleeping. Realized that I wasn’t going to need any of the parts except for the elbow and the quick disconnect fitting. So if any of the other components were damaged in the process, it was fine. Because the brass is soft, I was able to use wire cutters and break off enough of the sliding collar to expose the inner piece to get a wrench on. Unfortunately the inner piece on mine had grooves, but no wrench would fit it. Ended up putting it in a bench vise and was able to spin the elbow off. After that the elbow and pieces removed from the regulator worked perfectly together! Thank you for the video and the idea!
