Campervan Toilet Options!
Finding the best Campervan toilet is not easy, it depends a lot on the size of your van and how many people will be using it.
In the middle of the night when you need to go the last thing you want to be doing is trudging off to the campsite toilets or finding the nearest bush! We wanted an eco-friendly chemical toilet that could break dow waste and be portable enough for van life.
We have the Thetford 345 Toilet and we love it! We started off our camping life (when we had a car and tent) with a bucket Toilet...that was pretty grim! With the Thetford porta potti is a cassette toilet with a separate waste tank and water tank which makes it a flushing toilet.

Useful video, that looks really similar to the one we have for our VW. I think PortaPotti sales must have gone through the roof since last summer!! We never had one until all this uncertainty. Never got round to doing a video about it...perhaps I will now. Good vid, good luck with the channel....

About a cap full usually does it. Mixed with some water

You have to open the flush lever before using the toilet. Otherwise the valve/sleeve will be full with ..... yakk.

Good evening may I ask what size storage for the toilet fluid is in the 345

I think the fluid/flush tank can hold around 10/12 litres. We use this small fluid container which slots in the storage compartment amzn.to/3348yjC

Geeat review,thank you.Can I ask you sth? My height is about 170cm,is it comfortable to sit on the 345 or is short?What do you think? For the kids is sure more comfortable than 365 but for us is it?

Hi, sorry for the delay. I thought I had replied! I’m 175cm and it’s absolutely fine. I guess depends how much room you have in the van, but comparing the size difference between the 345 and 365 we went for space saving!

Does it smell? Are you just finding a drain somewhere to duspose of it?

Nope, the Elsan fluid stops it smelling, we just dispose at campsites. Thanks for watching!

We find we need to empty the toliet once every two days. I guess you could find a public toilet and empty it. The green Elsan is organic so safe to flush down the loo.
